I can honestly say this was one of the worst meals I have ever had. It was supposed to be roasted vegetables with couscous and feta. What arrived was a mess of hardly recognisable, cold, slimey aubergine and soggy courgette mixed up with cold couscous and with what looked like a whole packet of slightly warm feta plonked on top, finished off with a few limp bits of lettuce and half a cherry tomato. Disgusting!

My friend had what was described as liver and mash - this was a pile of cold Smash with a lump of grey liver on top, finished off with the ubiquitous lettuce again and get this - gravy over the whole lot! We laughed when it arrived as we had never seen gravy on lettuce before.

The waitress asked if we had enjoyed the meal and when we said 'No, it was awful' she said 'Oh well, that's what is on the menu' and walked off - no offer of a refund or complimentary coffee - nothing, not even an apology.

I wouldn't go back to the White Horse if you paid me. It's just resting on former glory - no more.

They lost our reservation but found us a table and admitted their mistake graciously. Starter of prawns very nice. Roast pork sadly missing crackling (crucial!) and was quite dry. Roast potatoes were massive and perhaps slightly undercooked. Could have done with more gravy too and the Yorkshire pudding was unnecessarily big, though tasty. Ambience is one of a family friendly brunch place rather than a pub and the pastel decorative palate was pretty bland. Quite expensive but fine, if nothing out of the ordinary.

We love this place. Great food, great interior with mix of tables, sofas and a garden - and gate from the garden through to the children's play-ground (a plus if you have little ones). A good place to chill out at the end of a stressful day. One of the best places to go in Richmond.

Think this place has raised its game in the recent past. Went the other night and had a fantastic steak whilst my partner had the Oxtail and both were very good. Service is good if a little erratic but overall a strong offering in Richmond
