We went to the Bar du Musee in Greenwich for drinks & food on Friday, 8th July 2011 and we truly had an excellent evening, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely lady at the entrance, the skilled bar & restaurant staff looked very happy working there and with the food OMG ! we were extremely surprised of the quality & that was so tasty we can only say thank you to the entire team and recommend this original cozy venue, get a Bar du Musee experience we all deserve that after a day at work,
Bon appetit !

Not bad, not great, but pretty expensive. For fairly standard food dinner and a bottle of wine for 4 people came to over £160. They had also run out of coffee!
Nice atmosphere though with the semi outside area. Friendly staff.
Better places to go in Greenwich if you are planning to spend that sort of money.

I have been coming here for years and I have to say, that after a few years break it has gone down... big time.
The sandwiches at the cafe side have zero fillings. The staff are rudeish and if you ask them to turn on the wifi ( which is never on btw ) you are lucky to get it by thursday.
I usually have to ask the staff several times to turn it on, and when they actually bother to do it, im done with my lunch.
There are plenty of nicer cheaper cafes nearby that are better value for money.

My husband and I just got back from Greenwich where we had a late lunch at the Bar du Musee. Both of us are very dissapointed. We did not touch the bread in the basket at £ 1.95. First I have to say that it is Sunday and on Sunday you have limited choice on the menu. So the dissapointment started there. I took the liver parfait which was OK but the bread was a bad as in the bread basket. My husband took the tuna carpacio as a starter which was good. The Wine was OK. My husband told me he forced himself to eat the meat (main course) which was not fresh and not tasty. I had the leek tart which was so small that I was still hungry when I finished my meal. Service was OK but at the end they brought desert that we had not yet ordered. The outside area is nice only I agree with a recent critic saying that the decoration on the wall is ruining the wooden panel. It is tastless. Both of us left Bar du Musee hungry and dissapointed.
Any way, I do not recommend gourmet customer to go there on a Sunday. Personally it was so bad that I would not even try it in the week or on Saturday. The food and its price is not worse it. I prefer to pay more and go to The Spread Eagle where all we be perfect (food, service and decor). This review was written on Sunday 1 August 2010 at 19.39

I really love this place and have been coming here for years as I'm a local, I have to say part of the appeal is in the ecclectic interior which I love, lot's of antique pictures and furniture combined with bare brick walls and glass roof really great. The food and service are still really good but they have made a bit of a mess of the exterior terrace, it has a weird carpeted area to the left with a mixture of black, brown faux leather sofas, pink flowery carpet and burgundy cushions, then upstairs to some really nice wicker chairs but a maze of glass, some with wooden supports and some wavy glass with black supports and then flowery canvases on the wall it's all a bit of a sensory overload and a real mess. What a shame, no idea why they have created all these different areas, maybe to accommodate smokers with the glass but it looks really tatty, what a shame.

I went with a party of 13 adults and 3 children on Saturday 6th Feb evening. I really liked the place. Service was good and friendly. Nice ambience in the cavernous conservatory area and the food was served quickly - bearing in mind the size of our party. The menu was smallish but contained some interesting dishes and everyone was happy with what they had. They also kept the drinks flowing too which kept everyone merry enough.
The only thing I would say is it's slightly expensive - £33 a head including drinks per head. But other than that it is a great place and large enough to still get a table on a Saturday night unlike most of the tiny restaurants in Greenwich.

I came here about a month ago to have a meal with my girlfriend. I have to admit that the service was so slow I asked to se the manager to which he arrived and was rude, so we just walked out. I would highly recommend walking a couple of steps more to any decent place in the wonderful area that is Greenwich. Hope this is helpful.

We have just had a terribel evening in this bar, for a cost of almost £90! The service was poor and slow. The food was good but the lack of care made it awful. We had to ask for our order to be taken, the meal was slow in arriving. The cheese came without enough crackers, asking for some more took over 10minutes; for water crackers! The service was over 12%! When I asked to see the manger the witresses then walked over to him and he walked off, not bothering to come across and addrees our issues! I will not be going back and would tell anyone that for that price go to 'Inside' brilliant food and service! Bar Du musee use to be lovely so sad it has come to this...very poor.

Just a note to say that if you hope to go on a Saturday night for a few drinks with a group of friends - think again! They only let couples in , no friends/brothers/sisters etc. Extremely rude bouncer too, I am a 27 year old lady and have never been spoken to so rudely in my life!
Go spend your hard earned money somewhere else!
