i went to the restaurant a few months ago. I don't recommend it to anyone: the wait was way too long, the food came late and when it did come it was disgusting and very small portions. I do NOT recommend anyone to go there

The horriblest restaurant i have ever been to. The service was horrible. The food was discusting: everything was either too undercooked or too overcoooked. I do NOT recommend this motel to anyone!

Me and my Mum went here because i went down to vist my sister and this place was fantastic the service was great, the atmosphere was so alive and the greek money on the walls was shouting "greek", the food was Great i had the chicken Kabab and it was so suculent and it was so cheap (being a good thing for a resturant in london).

Recently I went to Aphrodite Taverna with my Partner and my parents based on the strength of the reviews. I was not disappointed. We had the meat Meze, which was fantastic, the waiter warned us not to eat too much bread and he was right, the food just kept coming..... Fast, friendly service and a great atmosphere. Not cheap, but good value none the less. I will be going back!

I took my partner to Apheride on Friday 02/11/07 after reading the reviews from this web site. We arrived over an hour early but were lucky enough to get sat down straight away. The place was buzzing with little parties and families and couples, all in this 40-50 seated restaurant. No sooner had we sat down when we was given some olives and pita and bean salad. The waiter took are drinks order promptly returned to take the order for the meal. I would honestly say we was in there for no more then ten minuets more like seven and we was eating starters. The story was the same with the main course as soon as the starters were cleared the mains were out. That is probably my only criticism of the night. It was too quick. Although the owner was lovely and told us not to rush when we asked for the bill we already felt like our dining experience was over.

The food was nice we did enjoy all what we ordered. Be warned the calamari starter is like a main so share it. We also had garlic mushrooms so we felt quite full before our main course, the food was like rustic home cooked Greek food it was not arty farty fancy. It was full of flavours and suited the style of the restaurant and atmosphere.

We will be going back.

Working and staying close by Aphrodite Taverna I regularly walked past this busy restaurant and so decided I'd like to celebrated my birthday here with my girlfriend.

Being a Tuesday evening and so soon after Christmas must be the only reasons the restaurant was a little quieter than normal - but I'm not complaining - as it meant we received excellent friendly service from all the staff/owners.

I could not fault a thing and would highly recommend this place to anyone - hence my first online review - but not my last visit to the Aphrodite Taverna

After reading positive reviews, I was disappointed with this restaurant, especialy with the food. The octopus salad did not even resamble the real octopus salad with some pretty bad tasting mayonnaise dressing. Potatoes were literally soaked in oil. Overall,I found food rather mediocre.

I have been eating here for over 14 years.

I used to have my brithday party there every year and I even had a private banquet there after my wedding day.

The food is wonderful, Pantellis does the best potatoes this side of Athens!!

Theyr are both lovely people and they know how to make you feel welcome.

Always good service and great value.

Highly recommend.

This is probably the best Greek Taverna outside Greece. The staff are friendly, the food is out of this world and the ambience is good. Both the meat and the fish Meze is the best choice if you are 4 people or more. Plenty of great food bites, and you need to go there hungry.

the owners Rosanna and Pantelis are the friendliest people around. I love this restaurant to bits.
