Not up to the standard of other Peyton restaurants. Compared with his brilliant operation in the National Gallery, this place falls short. Go to the National or Inn The Park instead - the food will have brighter flavours and will be much better value for money.
The menu promises a lot and has some interesting and fresh ideas - but what arrives is flat and ordinary.
Service a bit of a let down - the staff don't seem to be bothered. Even with only four tables occupied, we were given little attention.
Great location, being part of the Wallace collection, but lacks the stylish atmosphere of the National and the buzz of the British Museum.
Should do better at this price.

Two recent forays to this restaurant inside the Wallace collection confirmed my view that the location is elegant but the food, whilst quite good, is not particularly good value. Entering through the gallery, the restaurant is at the rear of the building in a covered tiled courtyard containing plants, statues, and good floral arrangements. The impression is one of Italian elegance, not rustic charm. Perhaps it was the lack of sun, or the echoes in the large space, but I found the atmosphere somewhat chilly. Portions were fine, but do not take large, hungry men or wolfish children here. It is a venue better suited to classy tourists, business-men and ladies who lunch. The quality of the food, whilst fine, was somewhat inferior to the price you can expect to pay. There is a two course set menu which was between £22 and £25. Service is occasionally a bit hit and miss, but generally good. The waitress who served me both times was very pleasant and remembered me from my first trip. Hopefully that's a good sign. They do teas too. The cakes all looked scrummy.
