I recently spent a week in London and dined at Denise's restaurant 5 times. Each time I had a different meal and each time it was excellent, and so was the price. Wonderful value for money. The menu may be traditional, but they do it very well. Also the service was excellent on each evening, with lovely waitresses who were always charming and helpful.

I had dined here before a few years ago but I was instantly recognized by the manageress, and made to feel welcome. I also noticed that there are a lot of regular customers which is always a good sign for a restaurant.

I would certainly go back again and can highly recommend this very friendly French restaurant.

I also went to Denise's as part of the Times Eat out for £10 deal. Thank god I did. I wouldn't have paid anymore for the food.

One of my colleagues had the prawn cocktail, joking that it was a bit of a time warp meal - back to the 1970sĦ To be honest the whole place is a bit like that.

For mains we had the chicken with white wine sauce which was very good but served with a very lack lustre salad and also the goats cheese salad, which was less of a salad (I counted one piece of lettuce and three slivers of raw carrot) and more of a glorified cheese on toast. I'd hoped to be going for the healthier option with the salad but it was anything but.

The desserts were pretty average - we were served one pitiful crepe with a small squeeze of chocolate sauce - not very inspiring.

I've been out for other deals on the Times Eat out offer and the food has been the same as if you were dining out there as a regular customer - in other words, excellent. Denise's however, seemed to think that if you were only paying £10, then they didn't need to put in much effort to the cooking or presentation and serve only meagre portion sizes.

I certainly wouldn't come here unless there was a special offer. It's only redeeming feature is that the service was very warm and friendly.

Went to Denise's as part of the Times 3 courses for £10 deal, but was very disappointing. The food was bland and cold, portions were tiny and customer service was very slow despite the restaurant being faily empty.

Would not recommend.

This is a time warp; it offers a 60's or 70's style menu and cooking to match. After other reviews we were expecting something better. For example ,we were surprised that the sauce for chicken cacciatore and beef normandie were the same ,and merely poured over the meat rather than part of the cooking . The prices do not reflect this casual approach to the preparation. The clientele appeared to be largely mature groups so perhaps nostalgia is the theme.

Visited Denise's this past July. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Lunch was delightful. So good, in fact, that we returned the following evening and enjoyed a fabulous dinner. Contributing greatly to the atmosphere was Denise herself who warmly and graciously welcomed us (it happened to be her birthday!) along with her youthful and well-trained staff.

Two years we celebrated our 30 years of marriage at Denise's Restaurant with great succes.

We have just spent a week in London, and of course we visited Denise's again. The same good atmosphere, excellent food and service.

So - we will be back.

I completely disagree with all the previous reviews about Denise's restaurant. I went there for lunch today and the food was revolting. The seafood salad was particularly bad. With all the other choices of venues in London, why would anyone choose this place??

My girlfriend and I recently dined at this restaurant after a night out at the theatre. My girlfriend tried the Dover Sole and commented that it was the best fish she had tasted in London. I went for the L'Agneau du Chef, which was a terrific, slightly spiced diced chicken which I would definitely return to this restaurant for. The service was also great and over all we had a wonderful night. I would recommend Denise's to friends and family visiting London.
