The pub has an rustic charm mixed with art deco, which I liked. The service was prompt and polite. The best thing about the place is the food, which was impeccable, well priced and extremeley tasty! I shall be going again in the near future.

A pub or eatery that lacks total pleasure in its customers or lack clenliness is not worth visiting; it is not a question of only being a little bit this and a bit that but one of the eatery wanting your custom and what they will do to get it, this place falls short.

Personally I like the decor in the restaurant - it is definitely 'outdated' in the sense that the pub has what is (apparently) a perfectly intact 1940s dining room, complete with open fire, dark wood, 1940s style windows and booths. Wonderful. The service can be a little grumpy sometimes but I went last night and it was fine, really. Excellent game - often pheasant, and last night partridge. It can get noisy in the restaurant if they have a group in, but I would class it as a 'romantic' spot nonetheless, especially in winter - a place with real charm and character. Best to book. Only minor gripe is the quality of the olive oil and bread they give you to nibble on at the beginning of the meal - dipping oil really does have to be better than that. And the pictures in the restaurant are slightly cheap-looking, student-style, Warhol knock-offs which don't do the room any favours. But all in all, I love it.

The decor is modern but easily outdated. The food is top notch, although slightly pricey. The beer isnt kept to a decent temp, and they could do with looking after the pumps a bit better. And, the bar needs a good clean. The service is the main downside, pretentious and nonchalant attitude mixed with a lacklustre display which means I wont be returning. Shame, because the quality of food means this place had potential.
