Booked a table for 5 and was surpised that with 2 days to go this was not a problem. Arrived at 9 p.m. and the restaurant was completely empty (and I mean, no other person there) Went to the table and simply turned around and left - the place was absolutely filthy. They tried to persuade us to stay and told us that in 15mins the place would be full - 4 hours later when we left a nearby restuarant, it was still empty.

OMG !!!! what a night. went Elysee on the 9th sep as a suprise for my misses birthday. we got there at 9pm about half an hour before the band started. the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful(counldn't ask for better staff).

we were seated at the back of the restaurant, which was great as it was where all the entertainment took place.

the service was fast and very friendly the starters were brought out. it was a feast fit for a king. we couldn't finish the mass of different dishes and everything was very tasty.

come 9.30pm the greek music cd was turned off and the live band begain followed by the singers which was great fun as they got everyone involved singing and clapping and plate smashing be warned there is a charge for smashing plates.

the main course came, and once again a large amazing meal that we couldn't finish(don't eat for the day before you visit Elysee lol) main was nice not the best i've had but fulling.

WARNING not a place veggies, as there where four in our group and they weren't to happy with their choice of food.

then the belly dancer came around which had everyone singing, dancing and smashing plates.

after which the singers came out singing happy birthday with the birthday cake wow my misses felt like a queen and i was over the moon to see the smile on her face

then the desert a large plater of fresh fruit which was the perfect end to an amazing evening.

a great evening fairly priced for the westend.

good food, great service, warm and fun atmosphere, would defo recommend for parties or a romantic fun evening for two.

After reading some good and bad reviews about this place, I decided to take a chance with it and take my man there for his birthday because he has never tasted greek food. WHAT A MISTAKE! The food was average (with recipes where im not even sure were authentic greek) and the price for main meals were ok. However the bill came up to 75pounds. That in away was understandable because we ordered a bottle of wine which was 40 pounds. my man and I had chicken which was around 9pounds, and a service charnge of 15% was added, now that was a joke. I wouldnt mind paying for the high price if the food was great - but not average. The place looked clean but dated. The service was ok. When it was time to pay the bill, I tried for 5 minutes to get one of the waiters attention (even though we were the only ones there so how can u miss us), but the waiter ignored me and continued chatting up with one of the waitress near the kitchen!

I will never return to that place, and told my man that next time I'll take him to Konaki's around the corner as their food is tasty and great service.

I'm afraid I have only two words to describe my experience - absolutely hideous! I went with a group of 6 friends and not one of us can say we had a good time.

The food was AWFUL (I don't expect to order a chicken dish and get a tough old leg, I expect breast for the price we paid) and sooooooo over priced.

The wine list was AWFUL. A bottle of Domestica was about £25.00 which has always been referred to as Domestos in our house and only drunk in cases of desperation!

The service was BAD.We barely all fit round our table and kept having to move it in and out to let the waiter through to the table on top of us next door. The cabaret was NOT GOOD.

We had no option but to pay £4 each for the unfortunate pleasure. We were not offered any plate smashing as we didn't sit near enough to the dance floor section and I think you have to pay for them anyway.

We left at about midnight and seriously wished we had opted for another venue. Just don't ever go there is all I can say.Enough said.

We arrived @ 9pm as booked and were greeted well and shown to our table. Despite the fact that the restaurant was only a third full, we were seated near the back. We ordered food and wine (exorbitantly priced, but I guess this is the West End!) which came quickly and was good. Service until 11pm was attentive. Then the place started to fill up with the 'late' crowd, presumably for the singing, dancing and plate throwing that had commenced by this point. This was when the service became non-existent. The focus switched to the new comers, presumably because the margin on alcohol rather than food is where the money lies. On requesting a dessert menu (despite now being ignored, we would have liked to complete our meal) we were told there was only fruit. On imparting this information the waiter hurried away (armed with bottles of spirits for other tables) before we even had a chance to respond. Obviously, this cemented the opinion we had begun to form after the mains were delivered. It's a real shame, as the food was good, and the entertainment too. Even if we had been happy to endure, unless you were part of the in-crowd, the atmosphere became oppressive as the night wore on and the attention shifted to the most boisterous and presumably biggest spenders. We had hoped to find a Greek restaurant that we could re-visit (as my parents are big fans of the culture and cuisine), but we should have retained our cynicism for central London dining. We will stick to more local North London haunts in the future.

We arrived at the Elysee Restaurant at about 10.00pm and were warmly greeted at the entrance. We were taken to our table which was in the main part of the restaurant and offered drinks to start with. The drinks arrived followed by the menu's, of which we were reccommended the greek meze. The food was coming non stop and it was very good. By the time we finished our dinner the music had kicked in and the place started to jump, it quickly started to fill up and the atmosphere was now electric. People were dancing on tables, throwing plates and flowers and generally having a ball. We left at 2.30am a little bit drunk but had a FANTASTIC time. We will go back. Thank you for a great night.
