Been to Giottos a few times booked it for a theatre trip when I was in the restuarant just before christmas It was written in the diary in my presence. Confirmed the booking for 14 one week before our trip. The owner was full of chat etc. Turned up on the night, they had no knowledge of a booking, The owner refused to accept that i booked and confirmed it with him. As we were going to the threatre accross the road and they has space, we sat down got drinks, starter but no main couse between 5.30 and 7.15. Had to leave to go to the theatre. Like some other reviews the last time the footd was ok but the staff and service has taken a turn for the worse.

After this fiasco never again.

I think many people here don't know what Italian food is.

I have been living between Italy and London for 25 years.

Giotto's offers the closest you can get to a typical, off the street, normal Italian Trattoria or Restaurant.

It's the equivalent you would find if you went to Italy and went native instead of trying the touristy places.

I have been going, with Italians, regularly for 10 years now.

Their pasta dishes and starters are authentic.

Although I have never tried their Pizza as it has never seemed to be a Pizzeria...

The Place is just fantastic.

I'm flying over to London tomorrow. Giotto is one of the reasons!

I have been to Giotto's loads of times and I love it. The service is good, the food is great, their Minestrone soup is gorgeous, their Tiramisu is wonderful. The music is nice and not so noisy as to intrude. I have never had to wait very long for service and the staff are friendly. I am always taking people there and will continue to do so. It is very Italian. I tend to stagger my visits so that it remains special. Highly recommended.

I have been to Giotto's a number of times and must say I probably won't be going again. The food is pretty much you basic Italian fare (nothing that can't be done at home). The service, which was indeed once friendly, has sadly deteriorated. Overall its such a shame this once great restaurant has changed so much for the worse.

My partner and i shared a pizza to start which was great. I had the seafood risotto which really was amazing - so much so that i am guilty of popping in on the occasional lunchbreak for a take away. Waitress couldnt speak any english but not really an issue. Good price also. Highly recommend.

I'd have to say that I was quite disappointed by Giotto. You walk in and the service counter is right in your face - it's not the cleanest entry.

Service was horrid. We waited about 20 minutes just to order, it took about an hour for our food to arrive and another 30 minutes to get our bill. We started at 8 and didn't leave until 10:30 - which was pretty ridiculous.

The food was decent, but not worth the wait. The potatoes were dry and my veal looked like something you could buy from Sainsbury's - there was no real apologies for the delay and the place just was not romantic.

The food at Giotto last Saturday night was wonderful, and the atmosphere very romantic with candle setting. The service was impeccable and I have rarely tasted such good prawn cocktail and pasta. There is excellent choice and I wouldn't have any complaints about the place.
