Food was great, and great value with the 2 for 1 offer. (However, they did forget to deduct that from our bill). Nice, rustic decoration and pratty nice atmosphere.

In spite of the Italian staff, the food here is most definitely not top quality, authentic Italian fare. The toptable 2 for 1 deal made the experience very very good value as portions were not scanty and food was not horrible. But it could only be said to be average. A good place to go if you're hungry and don't fancy McDonalds, and if you're after a cosy setting. Might be a little too dim for some people.

I ordered the fried mozarella starter which was quite nice. At £2 a piece, rather pricey, especially given that one of the pieces happened to be extra small. I had a sneaking suspicion that the tomato sauce it was served with was nothing other than Heinz cream of tomato!!!!! Oh well eh.

The spinach and ricotta crespelle (is that what it's called?) was supposed to comprise pancakes al forno but instead appeared to be soggy lasagne sheets - definitely not familiar with the concept of al dente!

Staff were friendly but service did take a little too long. Perhaps because the al forno dish needed time for baking. The starter did arrive promptly after all.

All in all, not a bad feed. I'd have to sample more of the menu to be able to give a more objective review though.

I visited Italian Kitchen 24/11/06, I was given a perfectly positioned table and food was excellent, highly recommended.

Tried lunch here today - awful experience. An acceptable mushroom/ciabatta antipasti was followed by lasagne, brought to the table so hot that tomato sauce was literally boiling out onto the cloth - I had to push the plate away to avoid being splashed. 20 minutes later, the food was cooled sufficiently to allow consumption (just), but I wish I hadn't bothered. Although it was so hot I could barely taste it, it was very bland. Service non-existent. Worst Italian in London I have ever tried in my 10 years here: this is how many visitors think we eat all the time - what an embarrassment. Avoid.

I've been to this restaurant twice now and both times have really enjoyed the food. The only complaint I have with regards to this place is that both times I got the bill, it came with charges for two meals when I clearly stated that we had a 2 for 1 meal special. Both times they promptly removed one of the meals, so it really was no trouble... Although they will conveniently "forget" to tell you that service is included.

I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone- provided you check the bill before handing over your credit card...

When you enter the italian kitchen the decor certainly make you think twice, But I can say that the food was great service excellent and great value for money, we were going to see We will rock you and was looking for a pre show meal that was reasonabe and close to the theater.we was not disappointted aveiw shared by the whole company, and there was eight of us, all we the same feeling a great night. Highly recommended

Extremely poor service from a surly waiter, not so bad, but there was no one else there! Food which ranged from delicious to Sainsbury's style ready meal lasagne. Very disappointed.

Never had a bad meal here, one of the nicest Italian restaurants I've visited. I always find it to to be excellent value for money also, and very unassuming and unpretensious. Staff are always friendly and polite.

We have been here many times. The food is really great especially the potato side dish. I have introduced my work colleagues and they all love it too. Good value especially if you get the special deal before 7pm

I have used this restaurant many times over the years on theatre trips to London or just shopping days out with friends or family. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly especially to my two children and helpful on their choice from the menu. I would recommend it to anyone if you are looking for that "extra special" something in the capitol. Always a pleasure to introduce new friends to this wonderful gastronomic gem.
