Me and my partner have dined there over 5 times in the last year. The food is great. It's probably the best greek restaurant in London (and we have been to many, as we are greek). Would recommend the seabream as a main course, which is absolutely fantastic and it's cooked on charcoal grill. The staff is attentive without being overzealous. Wouldn't go on a Saturday night because it is packed (and the restaurant is quite small) but it is generally highly recommended.

I took my Spanish lady friend and another Spanish couple to London for a 5 day sightseeing visit last week, we had not booked a restaurant the first night, saw this restaurant which looked fairly full. I asked if they could fit us in, they said they could at about 10 o'clock, which was fine by us. We returned at 10 and had cold meze and hot meze for 4 and ordered a main course each. The mezes were some of the best I have tasted in the UK and there was so much we couldnt do the main course justice. The food was reasonably priced and there was an extensive wine list including some interesting Greek ones. The bill was half that of an Italian restaurant we went to the next night , and the food far superior, as was the service (so we returned the 3rd night). I will definately be going there again.

The wife fancied a Greek meze, and it was lovely, but how much food! she almost exploded. They were pleasant and there was a nice selection of dishes, definately go again (maybe after a 24 hour fast)

Friendly, bustling restaurant in central London. Was warned not to eat all day in preparation for the Meze, but it still beat all four of us. Really good service, will definately go back when next in London

I have been dreaming of Konacki's avgolemono soup since my last visit - too long ago!
The set prices for both lunch and early evening meals are better than reasonable.
As a single diner, I have always found the staff to be warm and attentive.
On a couple of lunch occasions, I was seated in the small, informal room at the back. I did not feel at all isolated or 'exiled' ,as the room filled up both times with regulars and neighborhood folk. They often included me as their friendly conversations went back and forth across the tables.
I love the Bloomsbury areas, and some of the small restaurants and cafes in the area are among the best for price, quality and single lady diners!

Excellent chilled out Greek restaurant. The food and service are both very good with a good selection of wine and a good atmosphere. This all combines to have my mind wandering back to greek holidays, relaxed taverna's and retsina.

Every since I've been in London, for the past four or years or so I have enjoyed going to Konaki, I must have been 15 times I guess (what can I say, I like Greek food!) - the food is great, consistently very good, the service is friendly, and for such authentic food it is excellent value, for London. I can recommend the Mezedakia, the mixture of cold starters which comes with a mountain of olives, chillils and pita bread, and the hirino for a main is fantastic. Sweet greek coffee to finish, couldn't ask for more. So much better value for money than so many London restaurants. The Thai Garden cafe, not far from Konaki, outside the British Museum is also very good, but Konaki is a real treat.

Large portions of homely traditional Greek food done reasonably well. Perhaps a little bit over-priced given how unsophisticated it is though.
The atmosphere and staff were very pleasant, and I felt comfortable in the slightly house-wifey decor.
Certainly it's better than most of the shiny terrible places trapping teenagers and tourists not far away in Covent Garden. Tucked away in a side street it was thankfully uncrammed for a Friday night too, a definite bonus for somewhere centrally located.
I'll go back, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it.

I visited Konaki on 6th Jan 2007 and dined alone there. The staff were very helpful, the music created a nice atmosphere but was not too loud and most importantly, the food was both of good quality and reasonably priced (£22 for three courses & a beer). The galaktoboureiko for dessert was fantastic.

This has got to be one of the worst restaurants i have been to. We went for our work Christmas party.
The food was awful, the service was non-existant, the waiters got the orders wrong. I ended up eating not what I ordered, it was terrible.
I will never go back.
