My Old Dutch (Holborn)

It seems a lot of reviews of this resturant are positive and it was recommended to me personally by several friends but............I'm have to say when I visited with my family the food was sub standard and over priced. Sorry we walked away half way through our meal. Yes the services was ok, yes it was a quient setting but the food was just not good.
Firstly the pancakes were burn. Secondly the fillings seem to have come out of a can or jar. Thirdly points one an two made the price absurd. My wife had the chilli filling which had the taste and consistancy of grool. My children had the chinese style duck but for some reason the duck tasted like frankfurters, we all tasted to confirm very strange. I had the Dutch meat balls which interestingly contain no meat (lost in translation) but these tasted all right. Followed by a pancake with sundried tomato an artichoke which was so salty I needed a litter of water.
Maybe it was an off day but I think best avoided if not intended to get very drunk before or after eating!

We love this wonderful restaurant! When we travel from Dallas it is one of our favorite places to go. It's especially good for curing jet lag---great light and yummy pancakes that will get you sleeping through the night in no time!

First time there today, no problems. Slight delay in getting the food but it was pretty busy in there so i'll forgive them.
Not bad price wise and it definitely fills you up.
I fancy a sleep now in fact!
Very good overall

I ate at My Old Dutch last week. This was my second visit to a restaurant that is fast becoming a favourite. The pancakes are enormous – far too much for me to manage all of! The savoury toppings are inventive and with four veggie options plus plenty of ‘make your own’ choices there’s plenty for non-meat eaters like myself. On my last visit I had creamed spinach with cheese and ratatouille. A great combination and very filling. I haven’t yet managed to leave enough space to fit in a sweet pancake, but I fully intend to. On this occasion I shared a waffle with loads of syrup and vanilla icecream with my boyfriend. After I woke up from the sugar-induced coma (only joking), I was completely satisfied!
The pancakes aren’t cheap, but for the quality and quantity of food on offer, the prices are more than reasonable. The service isn’t the most accomplished I’ve ever experienced but the staff are perfectly sweet and happy to help.
I’ll definitely be booking for Shrove Tuesday next year. And I might even attempt a sweet pancake!
