I actually looked on this site as I did not have the North Sea's 'phone number with me, as I left my umbrella in there last night. So I thought I would add my comments for Angela and her staff.

The best fish & chips in Town and always has been (we have tried several fish restaurants over the years), we have been going to the North Sea for the past twenty years. It is so refreshing for an old established restaurant to buck the trend and not turn itself into one of the modern day trendy bar/restaurants. No deafening music, just background on occasions, the place buzzes with conversations at the tables. Staff always friendly and courteous and always ensure that your meal is to your satisfaction.

NSF is one of our favourite restaurants, and DEF the top in the fish and chip category. Staff are courteous and friendly (we are offered our 'usual table' when just dropping in w/out booking ahead) and the food is scrumptious. The decor may not be top notch but as long as the food and service are good and the place is clean (which it is), what else is there to worry about?

I love the butter fish and am looking forward to its appearance in early summer. For now, I'll make do with the large grilled cod - luvvly!

I try to get to North Sea at least once during every trip to London. I don't remember ever having a meal I didn't enjoy. I do prefer to dine there when the owner is on-site, as she is very friendly and enjoyable to converse with. I usually choose whatever the special is, and it is always top notch. A favorite of mine, which has shown up on the menu several times, is the haddock with spring onion cream sauce - delicious! My sister always gets the fish and chips and always loves it. The potatoes I can take or leave, but I always get the peas, and if there's a dessert special, such as one of the owner's homemade pies, we'll share that.

My mum and I popped in on the 20th December 2007 for what I thought would be a mediocre tourist rip off F 'n' C lunch. WOW!! What an amazing lunch off F 'n' C. The cod was delicious, the chips were from the top shelf, and the dessert of caramel pudding and trifle went down in seconds. To get the same quality in Ireland would cost a fortune, and you'd probably need to book a table in advance in a posh tossers restaurant . Amazing food, decor a bit on the jaded side, staff ok and not too over the top. Overall, If the food's good then eat, shut up, and stop criticising the net curtains and the small details. One day you just may end up on a desert island with a line, a hook and a potato... Enjoy.. we did.

As good as ever, very friendly with local and tourist clientele. Excellent jumbo skate and jumbo rock, petit pois for her and mushy peas for me, with great basket of chips/tartare sauce. Mother is still making those 'special' desserts. Also special on the night, an excellent South African cabernet chilled to bits, lively with fruit. Can't wait to go again.

Had lunch there yesterday. I'm not quite sure the inside of a battered cod manages to be quite so wet! Definitely won't be going again.

North Sea Fish Restaurant has allways been a must in my trips to London. Fresh fish, perfectly grilled, one of the best fries, creme brulee and moderate cost attracted us the most and the three of us came in on Friday March 24th, 2006. We ordered halibut, trout and sea bream, all grililed. Everything was fine except for my sea bream which appeared to be bloody raw in the middle. The waitress immediately took the fish away (I have already eaten almost half of it), then the cook came and explained that the fish was too big, then they raplaced the fries and brought back - geuss what? - the fish I was eating before, only now completely cooked.

Otherwise everything was very good, only the service could be more attentive and welcoming.

Very good coffee, deserts; bill at 54.-

We had lunch at the North Sea fish restaurant on Saturday and my husband ordered a large middle of skate which they did not have and so ordered two small midlle of skate when the bill arrived the fish itself cost £19.00 which was very expensive. (the fish was nothing other than ordinary) The manager needs to go on a customer care course as she had a long face and absolutely no personality what so ever. The bill came to £57.00 for a fish and chip lunch. We will not be going to this restaurant again.

I cannot see why anyone would think this place was good. Avoid at all costs. Staff cheerful but the fish was sour tasting.

Best Fish and Chips in London in my opinion. Portions are huge and the fish is very fresh. A good selection of wines too. Makes for an excellent meal. Highly reccomended.
