Atmosphere - dark and hostile. Rude staff either ignoring you or shouting on the phone.

Food - sparse portions of not particularly tasty food, Salt beef tasted like cheap corn beef and bread was stale.

Prices - joke! £8 for a tiny sandwich.

Never again!

This is undoubtedly the best Kosher restaurant in Britain. This could be described as New York Style but its better than any tired New York resting on their laurels Jewish Restaurant that I have ever been into.

They serve the best and most authetic Latkas in London and their salt beef is of consistently high quality.

The family that run this place give it a special atmosphere as well as delivering quality meals.

The best kosher deli I've been to. The salt beef is the best corned beef (as american's call it) ever. Everything on the menu is great, you can't go wrong here. THe owners (Husband and Wife) are the sweetest. The staff there friendly and fast service. When I'm in London, I only eat here, wont waste my time or money. Clean Kosher food, not to mention the full time Mashgichim that are also very friendly and helpful. If you want to taste good food and a warm friendly smile, it's only Reuben's.

I used to go to buy latkes and sandwiches on a regular basis in 1985/86, for my boss and myself. The nosh was great.

Returning to the UK after a long time overseas, I went with my husband to lunch a few months ago. What a horrible shock. The latkes were not latkes, but some sort of peasant potato cake. The salt beef was broken bits of stale meat. The salad was overpriced. Everything was overpriced and no prices were shown. The bill was not itemised, and the waitress hardly spoke English. Never again!

We ordered a take away lunch to be delivered to our offices for a client visiting on a business lunch. The quality of food was acceptable, but questionable as to whether a chicken sandwich and 2 sides is worth over £30!

We specifically requested that the food arrived before 12pm, for which we were paying for a black cab to have it delivered. After calling Reuben’s at 12pm we were told it had not left and would be on its way soon. The food arrived 30mins late by which time our client had to go without lunch whilst the rest of the guests ate, much to our embarrassment. After ringing to complain we were faced with a very unprofessional and rude member of staff who told us we should have cancelled the order when we called at 12pm! Total lack of customer service, manners, punctuality, or professionalism and highly over priced. Not recommended for business catering.

Never tasted such fresh and delicious food in any other restaurant. Price was fair, and staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially to my little 3-year old. We will definitely be back soon!

Great food but we are still wondering why we were told not to sit at the table we had selected after being told "sit anywhere", only for another couple to sit there five minutes later wihout being asked to move!

Cheese and Biscuits - 7/10

Friday, March 27, 2009 - Reubens has a trick up its sleeve - it claims to be the only kosher restaurant in the West End, its specialities include home salted beef, house chicken soup and Lockshen pudding, and its clientele, judging by my visit yesterday lunchtime, are almost entirely sombrely-dressed Jewish men… It is a very pleasant surprise that after the best part of five years living in London there are still food cultures and traditions that go largely ignored by the rest of the city. Reubens…deserves to be on he list of anyone around these parts who want a tasty, hearty lunch for not much money.
