Savoir Faire
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
This is one of those few restaurant in London where you really feel like your money was well spent and your pallet was massively satisfied.
We were first sat at a quiet little ambient corner in the restaurant which provided the perfect atmosphere for a long chat. The decor is very fitting for the theme of the restaurant and I found myself looking around appreciating the furnishing and pictures on the bottom floor. We ordered from the £15.95 for 2 courses menu and I have to say, my chicken liver starter (cooked just right) and suckling pig main (absolutely gorgeous) was by far one of the best dishes I have had in a while, especially at that price. Saviore Faire is highly recommended and I will without a doubt be returning very soon. On top of the that, the service was fantastic, so a 10 out of 10 from me!

quaint, lovely little restaurant, staff very friendly, went for the Times 'Dine with Wine' special and could choose from whole menu except seabass but only an extra £1 to have it!! Would definitely return.

I love this place! It's a real find and offers such fantastic value for money, only downside with this place are the prehistoric toilets.

This tiny restaurant is so well hidden that even though I have worked just around the corner for 3 years, I had never noticed it was there.
I visited Savoir Faire on Tuesday 19 September and was very impressed with the service, the decor, the price and especially with the food. The restaurant is small, but it's ecclectic decoration and tiny tables lend the feel of a real French bistro. Staff expertly windaround the tightly packed tables, and even though the room was full on our vist and there were at least 4 members of staff on the go, Savoir Faire still felt intimate and romantic.
The menu offers two courses for £15.90 - a real steal. This price includes lovely warm french bread and vegetables. I had a blue cheese and fig starter that was mouth-watering, the sweet ripeness of the fruit providing a perfect foil to the salty cheese. My friend had goats cheese in a cous cous and walnut crust with caramelised apple - another winning sweet and savoury combination, and a very generous portion.
Mains continued the high standard; I had a rare rib-eye steak with home made bearnaise that came perfectly bloody and with dauphanoise potatoes on the side. It is the simple dishes that are usually the best test of a chef's skill, and this was exemplary. My friend had plumped for the sea bass, but they had run out, so she had the salmon instead. It was served with caramelised fennel and again, cooked perfectly with a crusty skin and moist interior.
We both had creme brulee for dessert at an additional cost, and although the sugar had been bruleed a little too much on mine (it was black!) I still enjoyed it and it did not detract from the rest of the meal. We shared a bottle of Shiraz and had a glass of champagne each at the start of the meal, and the bill, with service, came to £70 for two.
Savoir Faire is French bistro cooking done very well indeed - it is not flash and it is not fancy, but it is warm, welcoming and incredibly tasty.

I had the pleasure of dining here on 27 Aug. This restaurant provided just what I was looking for - good quality food at an affordable price. The chicken supreme was succulent and full of flavour and my companion really appreciated the tenderness of the beef bourguignon. The chocolate mousse was of just the right consistency - neither too creamy nor too solid.
The waiter and waitress were attentive and although the restaurant filled up they made time for everyone and no one was kept waiting.

A real little gem of a restaurant tucked away on a corner of New Oxford St. Don't let the proximity to Macdonalds deter you. This was our first visit, but will not be the last !!! The fixed price menu for two courses is varied, and all the choices tempting. The food is great and nicely presented, the service efficient and unobtrusive and the ambience quiet and intimate. Wines good and inexpensive. All in all, this represents excellent value - we have eaten more expensively in London on many occasions, but never so good for the money. Would heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone. There is bound to be something to please.

Having read some of the reviews below, I can say that they didn't not add the 'optional service charge' to our bill tonight, but then there were only 3 of us so that might be why.
We went for The Times Eat out for £10 evening meal. The menu choice was not disappointing and there was a lot of variety, us opting for goats cheese brulee and asparagus with smoked salmon for starters. Main courses were tasty and came with vegetables. We decided to pay £2.50 for dessert and had creme brulee, tarte tatin and banoffee pie, which were all fairly good and decently sized.
For the price, the food was very tasty and well presented. The staff were pleasant enough, admittedly not hugely attentive but to be honest we appreciated being left alone. The atmosphere was good and definitely good value for money.

Enjoyed this French sytle bistro in New Oxford Street. Best tables have a street view - downstairs is pretty grim. Food well prepared. Staff very helpful and friendly. Wines good. And the prices very very reasonable.

My boyfriend and I visited last night for a quick bite to eat before the cinema. After seeing the cheap prices and given the central location, I wasn't expecting all that much from the food, but I was pleasantly surprised. His starter of goat's cheese and mushroom tart and my main of rump of lamb with garlic jus and root veg were particularly excellent. I have recommended to some of my French colleagues and I will be interested to see what they think of this place. I will be visiting again.

Ok. well, if you are avisitor to this wonderful city and you would belive in eating where the local eat, you couldn't do better that this absolute Gem of a restaurant! Even if your are a long term London resident like myself, my advice is, make yourself a regular! I feel as if I am not helping myself by telling everyone about this place, but if the truth be known, it is a real find. the food is outstanding, especially with the price in mind, it has a VERY french feel, but the relaxed kind and the service, despite some of the comments that I have read (are you sure you were in the right place??) is, in my opinion, unbeatable. I chose this place to mark any occasion of importance to me and shun the pricier alternatives as here, I am NEVER displeased! Shouold be on the list of landmarks to visit in London!!
