We booked a table three weeks in advance. And when we arrived at the restaurant, we were told by the owner that "someone had called and cancelled the booking," though, obviously, we hadn't. He even brought out his reservations book and showed us where my name was crossed out. As if that was helpful. Clearly, as the restaurant was full, he opted to give our table to people more important than us. He was also rude and dismissive. There is no reason to come here again.

I went to the restaurant yesterday ,with my friends...we have called in the morning to book a table...and we explain to the manager (i think was the manager) that we wish to come when the show is finished, because we were at the musical `we will rock you`...so we arrived around 10 oclock pm and he said `no problem the last order is at 11:30!!!`...when we came to the restaurant the people want us to order immediately, they came to the table 3 times to take order!!!! then we were waiting two more guests and when they came (10;45)we order another fondue at 11 pm and the kitchen was closed!!!!! in the middletime we was eating the fondue the girl (she was half swiss and half italian) give to us the bill!! then we continued to eat and after 5 minutes she came with the card machine for pay the bill ...i was very angry and i ask to talk with the manager, but the manager wasn`t here then she disappears....then we didn`t finish to eat and we go to talk someone..and arrive at guy from the kitchen and he said` the manager he`s not here, he`s sleeping now,he`s a old man, than he said the our last order was at 11:15 pm (it was not true!!it was 11 and anyway the kitchen will be closed at 11:30) than he said we are working all day and never said i`m sorry maybe ......then we talking with a tuscan waitress and she said `i need to close the account before midnight and we are not pushing out nobody and anyway i `m not take any money!!` then we ask to cancel the service (was 30 pounds!!!) THEY NEVER SAID SORRY!!!! Only the young girl (the swiss/sicilian girl) she doesn t said anything...

On reading a couple of these reviews and seeing how some people have put bad reviews it really does suprise me. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic!! Be it I haven't had anything else off of the menu other than the cheese and steak fondues each time I go, quite simply because that is surely the main reason you would go!! This place is where I go every year as my birthday treat and I cannot fault it one little bit!!!

This place is lovely for a quirky treat. The beef fondue you fry in oil is lovely. It must be fillet as the meat is v tender and the sauces are great. Beetroot horseradish is my fave but there are about 10 of them. Raclette starter is so good, despite my usual cheese in restaurant phobia (only in a sandwich at 11pm in bed when mildly pissed!) but this is melted heaven!
Potato rosti is also lovely and comforting. I love the fact you can eat as much or little of the meat, and anything left comes home to be fried next day for dinner!
Beer isn't great but has a mildly comical label.

the food cant fail simply because of the name of the restaurant. The specialties are absolutely delicious, and very expensive. The house wine is fine. Service is perfect, as the place is very small. The time we went, they opened a bit late though. We stood outside for 10 min. But the food and service are absolutely worth it.

Nothing to say about the lovely cozy, friendly and genuine swiss chalet atmosphere. It was 7 of us and we only experienced the highly rated fondues, they were real yummy, however we all found them a bit boring. Portions (min for 2) are pretty generous and never seem to end, they are all served with a few boiled new potatoes and a huge amount of spongy bread which fills you up very quickly.Fondues were nice but we all agreed this is the sort of restaurant you would visit very occasionly, I am glad I gave it a go but wouldn't definately rush to go back.

I went to the St. Moritz for a Birthday party with a group of 10 friends. The service was really good, the staff were really fast and friendly. The food was great, we had a mixture of fondues which together with the decor really made you feel like you had just stepped into a traditional Swiss chalet.
The music, although very traditional, got boring fast. Luckily it was soon drowned out by the sound of the voices of the other customers!
At the end we received a Birthday cake on the house! Which was fantastic.
Overall I would definitely go back there again and I happily recommend it to anyone else willing to try something different!

After reading a few bad reviews I was warned of what can go wrong and hoped everything would be fine for my group of 15 people. I have to say that the stuff was really polite and with a little bit more presence the service would have been perfect. The food - especially the fondue - was really good. The traditional music was bearable but mostly because we talked a lot and didn't pay too much attention. The restaurant is really nice with it's two floors and I really enjoyed my evening here.

I was a little surprised when my wife told me she had booked us a table at St Moritz having read some of the reviews. However, all is not as bad as it seems.
Our entree consisted of the mixed sausages and potato raclette. The former was little more than several types of cold salami and the latter was two small new potatoes with a lump of tepid raclette cheese on the side. The piece of tomato and curly parsley as garnish were, well very 1970's. Not good.
Our mains were an improvement. My fillet steak with a whisky cream and green peppercorn sauce was well cooked, presented, and flavoured. My wife's corden bleu was a little overdone, but otherwise okay. Size-wise, the mains were very large.
Owing to the size of our main, we didn't order dessert.
The staff were very pleasant and courteous. The restaurant itself, while a little kitsch with the exposed beams, cow bells and traditional music playing constantly, is not offensive and adds a little charm to the experience, but only a little.
