Pleasant restaurant, though the tables are all a little too close together. Good food and reasonably priced. Polite service and we were quickly seated on a busy night (having not booked). Good enough, but nothing special.

Nearby Siam Central is just that little bit better than here, plus nicer atmosphere.

I have been to Thai Metro for more than 5 times in the past 3 months, the only reason I returned is the food. There are few similar Thai restaurants near by and believe me, I have tried most of them, Thai Metro's food is a bit better and the portions are bigger.
I only go there for lunch, never eat there in the evening. With the deal they do, £7.50 for two courses, I think it is very reasonable in that area. The service is ok and fast, the food always arrive fresh and hot on your table.
They also do fresh orange juice, which goes really well with the food. I always need to drink that after such a heavy lunch.

Agreed, too cramped. Four people shared a table more suited to two, which was stuffed into a corner, but service was amicable and quite fast too, although at the time we were the first guests of the evening. Setting was dimed and cosy and conducive to conversation, particularly when more diners came in and the place became quite abuzz. Not the place to go if you just want to chillax cos it's more like eat and leave for somewhere less hot and stuffy.
Food itself was quite tasty. I opted for the green curry surprise surprise, and it contained plenty of fresh, delicious galangal (that how you spell it?) but not very much chicken. The sweet-tasting oconut rice, which I shared with a friend, complemented the heat of the curry well. Curry portion was average and would not have filled a hungry man. I however was not feeling very hungry at all that evening anyway; had I been, there would not have been enough curry for my liking.

Fab restaurant. I've become a regular here after falling in love with the ginger stir fry. I also crave the mixed vegetarian starters for two. Yes, it's a bit cramped inside and small-ish, but who cares when the food is so reliably fresh, flavoursome and good? A great place in a good location. Plus there's a nice sit-out space for when it's sunny and warm outside. And no, the staff are not unfriendly. They're busy, but they do know theire regulars and I always get a warm welcome.

Its always packed, which is never a bad sign, food is great and service quick and efficient. My personal favourite has to be the Red Thai Curry with Coconut Rice. The atmosphere may lack authenticity but as the price per person rarely exceeds £15 you cant really complain. Definatley worth a visit.

I ate here with my dad last week. The food was fabulous, brilliantly presented and delicious. The coconut juice drink was amazing, served in its shell!
all in all it was superb, cant wait to eat here again!

Love this place, it may be anglicised Thai food but it is always delicious and great value for money, particularly in this area.

We dined at Thai Metro out of lack of choice (many places in and around Charlotte Street are shut on Sundays) more than anything else and I now know why I've never stepped foot in there prior to this. For the amount of money we spent (ok, it wasn't expensive but that's besides the point) I am definite that there are better places. Generally, I thought I was eating some anglicised version of take-away grub. Wonder if Thai Metro's sister Chu Chi is any better...

Perfect place for a quick bite to eat & if you're not in the mood for cooking or the likes of KFC. Buzzing, casual atmosphere, if somewhat a bit cramped when full. The food is tasty & served in generous portions. Pleasant, efficient service. This all makes it pretty good value for money.
