Belgo Centraal

I've visited this restaurant at least 8-9 times over the last few years and it never disappoints. Not one for the pre-theatre crowd though unless you leave plenty of time before the show, the restaurant is always jam packed and service isn't fast. However, this is a briliant venue for a night out with friends, the food is amazing with a menu you won't find replicated anywhere else. Everyone goes on about the beer but it's equally as good if, like me, you don't drink. May I recommend the spit-roast duck with sweet chilli sauce ... YUM!!!! Not one for an intimate date or a quiet meal, there is more of a 'feel good' atmosphere about this place. Decending down the stairs into this massive food hall with an open kitchen and waiters in the strangest of uniforms. It's a whole other world down there.

Belgo is a MUST everytime we visit London 3-4 times each year. Husband loves it for the beer, daughter (now age 8) loves it for the lift, the loos and the food. The lift was out of order on our last visit but the staff made up for it by treating our daughter to a chefs hat.

It's not a cosy meal out for two type of place so don't go there expecting intimate chat!

The staff are always polite and helpful; we will listen next time we are asked if we are absolutely certain we want 'that' type of beer!!

Looking forward to our next visit in November, on a Saturday night when we know that we'll either have to get their early or wait for a table but the wait really is worth it.

I've been in Belgo Central 4 times. I'm spanish living in UK...and I've also been in Belgium..I Like good food and good atmostphere. Belgo just deliver!

Belgo Centraal is great...but last time wasn't so good as usual. Although still good enough to say that's better than average in London. You can have an excellent dinner for about £30. You can spend less if you wish and you will enjoy anyway.

Great beers...of course. Great service and food...even when it's busy, what is rare for London. When is busy you will have to wait a bit (they will cook your food always from scratch and sometimes takes a while) but no problem with a beer in your hand and a few friends around you will not be too long.

Great atmosphere for groups from about 4 to 8...very lively! Only one issue on Saturdays could be a real pain getting a table....they don't take bookings!

Advice: go on sunday evenings...and you will get your table without problems.
