I find myself in agreement with the previous reviewer. This restaurant differs vastly from its Covent Garden cousin in many ways. For a start, you're actually welcome here. Their customers are their friends!
Service is quick and efficient. They don't seek a rapport with the customers; they're simply after doing their job in a no-nonsense fashion. But this isn't unfriendly. It's just very quick. They will take the time to help you through the drinks menu, though. Fruit beers, as is the norm with Belgos, are available here and always keep me happy.
The atmosphere is totally different from that of Covent Garden. You'd be forgiven for thinking it was a different chain. This is pure Camden. Relax and enjoy.
I don't think I'm imagining this, but the food was definitely better in this branch! As always, I went for the mussels. This is, after all, what Belgos is all about. From my point of view, a choice to go to Belgos is a choice to eat mussels, chips and strange beer.
I'm looking forward to going back! It gets quite popular at the usual times of the week, so you may want to book.

Two visits within a month, each time with a group of four people. Excellent experience both times.
Firstly, staff were efficient at greeting and showing us to our table. Drinks and food orders taken in a timely manner and food arrived in a good time also even when the restaurant was full.
Dishes delivered on all counts. The classic moules and frites is as good as ever, although the fries while good are not quite as good as I remember in the past. My partner's burger was reported to be excellent. Rotisserie chicken was also very good indeed with a generous portion and well balanced, flavourful sauces. Love the big range of Belgian beers.
Belgo has a found a good formula and sticks to it. A great place all round.

I went to BELGO after window-shopping on Camden Market with one of my friends. We took our seat and ordered drinks-two cokes- soon, because we were very tired.
At the time when drinks came on tabel, I felt the workers in the restaurant are very kind, and have nice service-mind. One of the waiter fall one of the straw down, but I and my friend didn't notice it. But he told us sorry very politely, and brought another straws.
I ordered 1 CROQUETTES, 1 KG MARINERE, 1 SALMON FILLET, 2 COKES.
MARINERE, SALMON FILLET was awesome because of their quality and also quantity. But the starter-CROQUETTES was not very good. It was very small, and they gave me too small amout of vegetables. If they gave me more vegetables, I could have had more delicious main meal.
But the restaurant's mood was very good, and the toilet was also very comfortable and clean.
If someone ask me, I will recommend this restaurant, but without starter. Or, I'll recommend other starter menus.

Been here twice with lots of friends (first time with French, second time with international group). The beer is fantastic, and Salad is nice too. The deco really suits the buzzy ambience in the surrounding arty rocky markets.

Group of 8 last night, pre concert at Roundhouse. Arrivet at 7:00, food eventually arrived at 8:30-8:50 (different times). Incorrect orders served, but were too frazzled & hungary to correct. Complained to manager, but was given desperate, pittiful tale of wanting to make us happy, but only offered couple of plate off bill, and some schnapps (!!!). Service was still included on the bill.
Terrible time, we shall never, ever return,

We had been looking forward to visiting one of the Belgo restaurants and decided on the Camden branch for Surf and Turf. Firstly it was really awkward to enter as we had a small pushchair, there are metal stairs and it is all a bit dark. the staff kindly watched us struggle along without any offer of help....not a good start
We went for lunch and took our 2 kids. The offer of a free kids meal with a full paying adult seemed good. There is a great choice of beers and I loved the cherry flavoured one.....thats were it ends, the food was boring and mostly shell, my husband had been looking forward to trying the lobster and still after it felt like he still had not had any, no bloody meat on at all! lots of effort for a boring meal I would expect to but from a cheap supermarket, the meat was chewy, the lobster non existant and the staff TERRIBLE.....we all got our meals at different times and it was not busy, there were around 10 other customers. The waitress spent more time playing with the till than serving customers, we were not helped in any way and had to go to her at the till if we required anything, to top it all the chef places the meal on a counter, the waitress after playing with her till for 3 mins (we were so annoyed we timed her) she then brought it to our table and for this 'service' we were charged £5.70. The manager was nowhere to be found so we sent an email....we have had no response at all..... BELGO... more like NOGO.....never again!!!
