I have been going to Mango Rooms for years, over the years The portions have got smaller and the service gets worse and worse. The only reason we continue to go back is because the food tastes fab. We went to Mango rooms recently and had to wait 1hr for a table that was pre booked. There was no apology, plus the starters took another 40 mins only for the waitress to tell us that one of the starters was not available so we had to wait for another starter, then we waited forever for the mains.

The food is great but I will not be going back anytime soon.

I went to Mango Room over the weekend and was truely shocked but the poor service. The waitresses took a long time to serve our drinks and served tables with the wrong orders and just shouted out for who ordered which drink....very unprofessional. The portions of food were very small given that it is £25 pounds for a three courses meal. Many of us chose the same main courses and so they lumped our rice and plantain in the same bowl. the waitresses dropped a couple plates and knocked over wine glasses on our tables. Our late guests were told they were unable to recieve thier starters but still had to pay for the 3 courses. the late guests receive their food within 3 minutes (microwaved the curry goat). the curry goat was not fantastic (better off going to a takeaway shop). They also charge 12.5% service charge for thier awful service and to top it off we were told at the beginning of the meal (7pm) that we had to be out by 9pm. It was upsetting given that I have been waiting to go to Mango Room for a very long time.

Never having been to the Mango Room before,, eight of us had dinner there recently and the food was truly excellent - starters, main courses and puds were extremely tasty, with unfamiliar Caribbean ingredients and flavours, the service was attentive and friendly and all members of the party enjoyed their evening. It was also very good value

I think that you were expecting a bit too much. I've eaten there quite a few times and always enjoy the Seafood Cassarole, its one of my favourite dishes, if they were any bigger then you'd topple over. There are plenty of great dishes and many other good aspects to the place. I suggest you try this place again before, thinking twice about writing a review. There are a lot of places in the west end that charge you much more, think this place is not too bad for up-market Caribbean in Camden Town, which is slowly changing...hopefully for the good, even more up and coming in that respect I disagree with this review!

The portion sizes seem to have decreased somewhat. Perhaps they have been visited by some top chefs as this place has become mega posh in the last year. Fabulous champagne cocktails and tasty food. A bit pricey but okay for a one-off night out. No rudeness this time... Last time we were given incorrect directions to the restaurant and then told off for being a little late.

I think my main suggestion would be to get rid of some of the tables. No one likes being squashed up next to another couple when you are trying to enjoy a romantic meal out!

And someone please tell the owner to stop fiddling with the dimmer lights - the acronym OCD springs to mind.

visited Mango Room in party of four. Food was delicious and loved the atmosphere and reggae tunes in the background. Also great cocktails and rum punches.

Ate here last night and won't be returning. It seems that it sets itself up as a high end Carribbean food restaurant but it really does not deliver.

The starters (salmon carpaccio and duck/apple skewer) were really bland - and at £6.50 for two v think slices of salmon and a single skewer with 4 small cubes of duck on - outrageously overpriced. I don't object to small portions if they are really well cooked, season and presented but these just didn't cut the mustard - not even close!

The mains (curry goat and seafood casserole) sadly for the most part followed a similar vein. The curry goat, which was really tasty, unfortunately had lots of shards of shattered bone in - but at £11 did not represent terrible value.

The same could not be said for the seafood casserole (£15): the broth itself (tomato/stock based) was ok, but really nothing to write home about and amounted to about a cup full. And the 'casserole' consisted of: 3 mussels; 1 scallop; 2 prawns; and a small piece of fish. Outrageous.

The rice and pea was fine.

The wine was ok - £15 for a bottle of Chenin Blanc - but the £65 total bill was absolutely staggering for the quality, portions and flavour on offer.

Never to return, I'm afraid.

Went to Mango Room for a birthday celebration. Admittedly we were late and had to wait over an hour for our booked table, but the Manager was rude and unapproachable. His management skills were beyond belief even with the customers already there. The service was appalling and they looked as if they hadn't a clue how to take and deliver drink/cocktail orders. The staff were unprofessional arguing in front of us customers. My starter of prawns came. Only two tiger prawns in shell came. The curry goat made up for it, very tasty just as I would make it. The atmosphere was good, the old school music playing was entertaining. I would go back again, just to give it a second chance. I would recommend a staff overall and a new Manager who has better people skills.

Entered mango room on a sat eve! very relaxed spaced out surroundings with music playing which enlighted the atmosphere!! table was small for 2 starter tasted nice! but lacked amount! main course lamb shank with mashed sweet potato!! which i found very nice a smal salad or bread would have been a nice extra.... the desert fruit cake with cream!! it seems to have evaporated !! i could just make out a slight wet look to the plate! all in all food i do reccomend service i will say was poor!! atmosphere great !! will i go there again yes but with caution my friend enjoyed the bream fish but she never ate all !! rate it 6 out of 10 ...... staff need to be more alert and attentive.... I did notice they managed to get to my table fast when i said bill please !!!

CHECK IT OUT THE FOOD IS VERY WELL PREPARED

I went there once and it just didn't feel like a Caribbean restaurant. It felt like some German expat's summer farm retreat in Thailand. Expensive and not remotely Caribbean tasting. Anyway the Caribbean is a big place, Cuba to Trinidad to Jamaica and their food are not that close. Nice decor and that's about it.
