I have not and will never get over the fact that Emperor and Emperor Junior had to close down. WHY WHY WHY!!!!!!!!! This has contributed vastly to the deterioration to my quality of life - not a day goes past when I don't get depressed thinking about it. There is no substitute for the quality and value for money - and now how am I supposed to get delivery?!!! SO not fair!!!!!

Emperor Restaurant/Junior/Direct is now Closed
Due to redevelopment of our premises, the Emperor Restaurants are now closed.
After over 15 years in Chelsea, this is a sad time for us, but unfortunately a situation we were unable to avoid.
We are looking to relocate the Emperor Junior and our Emperor Direct delivery service in the near future - so please bear with us whilst we secure new property in the area.
In the mean time, may we thank you all for your custom, and we hope to serve you again in the future.
Gary

I used to live near the Emperor and my family and I had been going there for years. The hot and sour soup and beef & broad rice noodles (hoi fun) is one of the best around and the service is always prompt and polite. The dim sum is comparable to Hong Kong Standard.
I can't quite understand the 2 or 3 bad review here. Never had I encounter any rudeness from the staff or even when I listen in to their private conversation had foul language been involved. Obviously, foodwise there maybe bad days when the regular chef is off which happens to every restuarant. The price is right, really can't complaint for a location in Chelsea.
You'll see unpretensious neighbourhood people tucking in and enjoying the food at all times.

I go often to the Emperor Café next door to the Emperor Restaurant - the kitchen is the same. If you like Dim Sum, you will be very happy as it is excellent, especially the garlic prawn rolls, cuttle fish cakes, vietnamese spring rolls and sui mai.
Drink Chinese tea and the bill will be for about £12 including tip - good value for London.
The service is always fast and friendly.

We went for dinner recently on recommendation from a friend. However, we were very disappointed. The food (especially the lobster dish so tatalisingly advertised on the window) was one of the lowest quality I have experienced in the Chinese restaurants in London. The foul language used by the waiters amongst themselves while serving the guests was plainly shocking. What a disgrace!

It was Friday night and I was looking for a decent Chinese restaurant which had a delivery service. I looked at their website which was mediokre but still useful. I gathered my order and called up with great difficulty, I ordered my meal. The woman called Aileen who didnt speak much English and got my credit card details wrong and had to call me back. Although, the delivery service was excellent and very efficient and took less than 30 mins. The food was moderate and didnt make my gastric juices flow. Overall, not a bad eat so try it out!

I am lucky enough to live round the corner from the Emperor - this is by far one of the best Chinese restaurant's in London! The food is execellent and I have always found the staff accomodating and pleasant.
The scallop dumplings are a must, along with most things on the menu.
Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

Best Chinese in London, bar none. Service is excellent, menu is authentic and delicious and special requests are often catered for. It's a little slice of Hong kong on the Kings Road.

Dear All,
I had a most unpleasent and unsatisfactory experience at the Emperor. Upon ordering one of the most expensive dishes wich was kingprawn, I was asked if I wanted anything extra. (As I wanted the kingprawn main course as it came) I was most shocked to recieve a very bare plate indeed with virtually 3 tiny shrimp battered and fried looking things. Ths was a joke and I didnt accept this for a meal of 15 pounds+, this was just the first of many unpleasent events. Normally I am very obedient and patient in restaurants, but the Emperor seemed the most commercial and fake Chionese I had ever been to. Furthermore the management was very rude to me, when I expressed my discontent and I receieved no reimbursement! I highly recommend steering clear of the Emperor, and do not be won over by its false name!
