Frantoio

Took my wife to this restaurant for her 40th birthday in March 2008. Knocked the guide price out of the window but we had some excellent wines that were only beaten by the quality of the food. My other family members who attended with us were blown away by the nice surroundings and my father in law was speechless with the good taste of the food and the overall presentation.

Had a fabulous lunch here - great for kids - delicious food - friendly service and fun atmosphere. Service was quick and lunch was very enjoyable. Has now become our local Italian and the kids favourite restaurant.

reasonably priced and good Italian food with an extensive list of daily specials. The staff are warm and friendly but the maitre d'/owner was extraordinarily rude and arrogant and this only after a very long wait to give our order which it seems no one else is allowed to take. Under normal circumstances, we would have left but one of the party was wheelchair bound so a speedy exit to find somewhere else was not practical. If you don't mind or even enjoy being insulted at Basil Fawlty levels of contempt for the customer this could be a preferred venue.

visited as part of birthday group of c. 10 - after 20 minutes of waiting for some sevrice and then asking 3 or 4 times got our orders in - when asked what speciasl were he waited til everyone had ordered before he showed them which of course led to some changing - 1st course arrived after we had been there an hour - no faulting quality of food - delicious vongele and calves liver perfectly cooked but it has been years since i wante dto walk out of a place because the service was so bad.

We returned after over a year and were warmly re welcomed,the service was superb unobtrusive but efficient and the scallops as remembered unsurpassed anywhere.How many rubbery ones have I endured !!! The pasta with fresh crab deliciou al dente and with just the right amount of chilli added at my request did not ovepower the fresh crab,my wifes dishes were equally as good,this restaurant is a treasure in an area that can empty your pocket but leave your stomach unsatisfied at many more expensive and celebrated restaurants in the area.The olive oil is as fine as the best I have evert tasted .This is MY FAVORITE ITALIAN

Great surroundings, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food and keen prices. Bucci the maitre d' can't do enough to please. As we were leaving, the heavens opened and when Bucci realised I didn't have a hood, he appeared out of nowhere with an umbrella. What a gent !!! Visit Frantoio, you won't be disappointed !

Frantoio is one of my favourite restaurants in London, I have been dining in Bucci's restaurants for 15 years now and this incarnation is by far the best.

The food is always of an extremely high standard and the wines are well chosen.

We always feel very welcome and this place has become a home from home.

Add to all this Bucci's modesty, (he has a lot to be modest about) and wit and you have the perfect Italian.

We as a Company, INDUVER ANTWERP, visit London for a match at Chelsea some 4/5 a times a season with clients and always enjoy a fantastic meal ,great friendly atmosphere with equivalent service with Bucci in Frantoio,before the game, and sometimes during the evening.

In Belgium, restaurants have a very standard in general,certainly in our home town, and we dare to place Frantoio amongst the very best in our mind.

Many of our clients have visited Frantoio afterwards on a personal basis , and we feel this says a great deal about the experience one has at this cosy,friendly place with a maitre who indeed never can do enough for his guests, being you are on your own or with a large group.We strongly reccomend this restaurant to those appreciating the fine Italian kitchen with authenticity.

Keep up the good work , and see you all again next season!

We highly recommend Frantoio restaurant... if you want the "Magic of Italy" look no further... superb italian cuisine at reasonable prices, fine wines and Bucci the owner and staff pay great attention to service at all times to make us always feel comfortable and at home!! Whether you want a romantic evening meal or an informal relaxed sunday lunch with the kids you need look no further.

A real classic Italian restaurant here - traditional menu (though with a hefty specials board including lots of fish), friendly waiters and a cosy setting. The food was all very good and we were allowed to linger over coffees and free shots of limoncello (surely as old school as it gets!) Nothing especially innovative here, but perhaps that's what made it such a nice experience.
