Lost in london the other eve we dropped into the Ghillies for a swift cocktail and ended up staying due to the smells pouring out of the kitchen! No need for discussion between me and the missus on this one, for the first time ever we managed to agree! Anyway, marital bliss could not be dwelled upon as we ordered our starters of Smoked Swordfish on a bed of fresh capers, basalmic glaze and what i think was a cress salad & a venison carpaccio with goats cheese dressing. The venison was wonderfully rich and the dressing strong but palatable. My swordfish was a revelation, such a fantastic combination of sweet, smoked and fresh flavours - loved it.

Mains were just as delicious - i wolfed down a duck breat with sweet potato and carrot mash with a porcini mushroom sauce! Fantastic. After much deliberation over the homemade burger with caramelised onions and the king prawn pesto pasta - wifey went for the pasta and was very pleased with her decision. A sizeable portion fit for a fatty arrived on the table with loads of prawns and a sumptious homemade pesto sauce. Dessert was looking like a foreign invasion too far on the scale of Afghanistan, but we persevered and I knocked back a warm apricot tart while wifey dealt with vanilla panecotta and rhubarb something or other - good call, desserts were so damn tasty and worth the expense of now having to buy larger waist banded trousers. Highly recommend Ghillies.

First time I came here was because a friends recommendations and I have returned many times since then.

The restaurant and bar presents a warm and friendly yet laid-back atmosphere with an attentive, proffessional manager and nice staff.

I have yet not been disappointed with anything I ordered. The presentation is nice and the plates not overloaded, the price is reasonable and everything is fresh.

I warmly recommend Ghillies to anyone who looks for a cosy, personal setting with excellent food.

Having been closed for a few months, I was very impressed with the new restaurant. The trendy bar at the front leads into the restaurant at the back with cosy booths.

The food exceeded expectations, compliments all around, the burger and cod were the two favourites.

It was heartening to find a manager so attentive and charming, the service was excellent for the whole evening.

A great place to go for an intimate meal and have a cocktail before or afterwards.

On the upside we found the food to be very tasty and well presented. 3 of us ordered the rib eye which was cooked to perfection with a peppercorn sauce. Unfotunately the sauce was more like a peppery gravy....rather disappointing. On the downside the service was virtually non existant we had to shout out to the waiter several times as he was too busy talking with other staff. We weren't offered desert, in fact I don't know if they even serve it. Overall not bad but I have had alot better.

My husband and I used to go there all the time for cocktails and talk to the bartender. Used to be a lot of fun. HOWEVER!!!! Last time we went, the South African MANAGER of all people was extremely rude and got mad at the bartender for making us another drink because she wanted to catch her train! She told us to drink quick and leave. Really ruined the mood, and we will not be going back.

I went to dine at this Tapas joint a month ago and had a great time. This review has only come about because of the idiotic review I have just seen as I was set to book. The food was so good that we probably went through the entire menu. The pork belly was re-ordered a few times!

Cocktails to start, a very reasonable bottle of reserva Chianti. The service as always was friendly and knowledgeable.

The decor is great and feel to the place great. Constructive observations great, idiotic insults not so.

I visited Ghillies for the third time in almost as many weeks last night and again was impressed, firstly by the quality of the food and secondly by the pleasantness of the staff.

The tapas-style menu afforded us the freedom to order seared tuna, scallops, stuffed squid and pork belly and still have room for a calorie packed but v.delicious chocolate mousse.

Given that Fulham is not over-burdened in the quality food stakes, this evolution of Ghillies is a welcome addition and one to which I will return.

Ghillies used to be more than great, wonderful fish, not a pub, but not a corporate place that people who eat out in the week try to avoid at weekends. Always full, lovely staff.

In the summer last year we were told "we're closing tomorrow for a refurb". "Oh, is the food going to be the same" was the question I asked. "Yes", I was told.

Well if Tapa's is the same as fresh fish, Morecambe Bay Shrimps, then I'm a banana.

No wonder the place is now empty. Remember the awful "El Dorado" on TV? The new Ghillies is it. Should be renamed "2 Chillies" instead

I hadn't had the pleasure of visiting the previous incarnation of Ghillies but if it was even a patch on the current version then it must have been out of the top drawer.

I visited on April 26th and again on May 5th and on both occasions was delighed with the variety and tastes of the "tapas" on offer: we particularly loved the scallops, the seared tuna and the meatballs, oh and it's definitely worth leaving room for the chocolate mousse.

As the previous reviewer has said, it's good to know that there's a decent alternative to the Wandsworth Bridge Road staples just around the corner, I'll certainly be back!

Absolutely brilliant! Went there last night for Valentines. Waitresses very friendly and helpful, wine was excellent and the food was delicious. The duck was perfectly cooked, as were the pork fillets. Fantastic asparagus with scrambled eggs, and the mushroom with goat's cheese was also extremely good - and I don't even like goat's cheese!

Great atmosphere, prompt friendly service, great food and finally, amazingly good value.

I will definitely be going back!
