One of the most consistent restaraunts in London. I have been an occassional customer for quite a number of years now and more recently this last weekend. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience at Maggie Jones's. The atmosphere, quality of service and food is great and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Had a wonderful evening here recently. Arriving a bit keen they allowed me to take my table 15 minutes early and have a drink while waiting for my companion.

Our food (One grilled salmon with potatoes and french beans, one liver and bacon) was cooked perfectly, was tasty and satisfying, and the portions were big enough so you had to leave room for dessert.

The wine was reasonably priced and serviced in cute odd shaped glasses.

The ambience is what really makes it special though. Quirky, candlelit, romantic and laidback.

Perfect for canoodling or with small groups of friends for a treat.

The manageress Christine was without doubt a perfect host!!

I always have an amazing experience at Maggie Jones and have been back many times because of this. I have a background in the restaurant business so know when I come across a well managed operation. The service here is unpretentious and efficient. The decor is charmingly authentic. The food is proper English fare and is consistently delivered to a very high standard. I have spoken with the staff at length about various aspects of the business and was thrilled to hear the kitchen staff had been working there for ever- in 2009 Head chef 35 years, 2nd Chef 25 years and 3rd chef 18 years. Considering they squeeze into about 8 square meters, don't use a microwave, walk in chiller or any other mod cons you have to take your hat off to them. The manager Chrissy is a doll and has gone out of her way to help when I haven't booked early enough or have had a change of plans. She once sent us to a local pub for a drink whilst we waited for a table and because we didn't get reception on our phones sent a waiter to find us. Talk about he extra mile!!! The magnums of French Pinot Noir and Sauvingon Blanc are great value as is the Sunday Roast. All in all this is one of my favorite restaurants in London.

As residents of Kensington my wife and I have been customer's of Maggies for longer than we care to remember. We naturally use other local residence but when ever we are in need of comfort the warm welcoming ambience, the incredibly friendly staff and the simple home cooking never fail to impress and satisfy our needs. Long may she reign and cast of the critisisms of those who just don't get it.

I Love this place. We returned to Maggie Jones's after five years and nothing has changed. Chrissie is still as welcoming as ever. The staff are fun and friendly.

I was told by one of the boys that the chefs are the same. Still turning out the famous fish pie and the venison with red cabbage which was delightful. The wine list contained some greats and not very expensive for a london city centre restaurant.

We will definately be going back asap.

Awful! Truly awful. The food was over-priced, the service was poor, and it was simply nothing special. The bread was stale and nothing special. The crab starter had crab shells throughout. The "medium" lamb was brown all the way through and tough to chew. Staff were cocky and unattentive. The decor was nice, and I thought the place had potential when I walked in. I was sorely mistaken.

typical English cosy friendly well-appointed restaurant. consistantly excellant.

divine vinaigrette over the crudites. Huge menu a la carte offered as well as specialities of the day on the Blackboard. Soft background music appreciated. Novel decor, candlelit, mouthwatering food.

always a special place to be in.

we're never disapointed. not too expensive. Excellant house wine.

I love this place, go here almost weekly with my partners parents. The service is alway great, the food is simple, but never anything other than brilliant and you just can't beat the atmosphere!!

It a touch expensive, but mine and my partners family love it!!

Oyster mushroom rocket salad, steak and mango casserole, lemon sorbet and a a lot of the house red!! Alway a winner!!!

I cannot believe some of these positive reviews. This place is overpriced rubbish. The decor and staff are ok but the food is terrible and hugely overpriced. There are now so many restaurants in London where the chef makes an effort and the food reflects this. Maggie Jones's serves poor school favourites at Michelin prices. Tinned peas anybody!!! If you want to pay £80 per head go somewhere decent not to this clip joint.
