I cannot believe some of these positive reviews. This place is overpriced rubbish. The decor and staff are ok but the food is terrible and hugely overpriced. There are now so many restaurants in London where the chef makes an effort and the food reflects this. Maggie Jones's serves poor school favourites at Michelin prices. Tinned peas anybody!!! If you want to pay £80 per head go somewhere decent not to this clip joint.

Really poor meal and for 84 pounds (two main courses, a pudding and bottle of wine)! My pork chop had stale pork scratchings over the top, the chop itself was dry with lots and lots of fatty bits and the saute potatoes were stale too. Pork was 20 quid and the potatoes another 4. My partner's lamb was so fatty there was hardly any lamb. The custard on the bread and butter pudding was synthetic tasting and very like birds eye. I think they have the dark, candlelit atmosphere to cover a multitude of sins. Service was good but that is all I can say for the place. I can live with overpriced if the food is adequate to good but this was very very poor food and when you consider what they are charging, I will definitely not be returning.

I thought the food expensive for what it was. My wife ordered a rocket, parmesan and mushroom salad starter which was hot, and not nice. I had steak and kidney pudding and wife had chicken pie, both nice but £15 each? The bill came to £80 for what was basically pub food. (2 starters, 2 mains, bottle of wine).
