I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend on our anniversary and we were not at all impressed with the food. The waiters are all Spanish (why is that in an italian restaurant?!) and not particularly attentive. The food was not fresh nor original. I don't recommend this Italian restaurant.

The wine list was good but this part of the meal was its only saving grace unfortunately. The starter for my very elegant milanese fiancee was essentially a plate the size of a satellite dish filled with a lentil soup/puree. I started off with the mozzarella in carrozza which were soggy, enormous and lacking in life. For the main course we took veal milanese (this came with a half a lemon, nothing else and again was rather lifeless. My fiancee took the special which was spare ribs -which required her to wear a giant sized bib brought to the table by the waiter - but the taste was good if not the presentation. The contorni were a range of uninspring chipped potatoes, slightly overdone broccoli and zucchine fritte (the latter by the way were delicious!!)
We could not justify staying for dessert or coffee but nonetheless the bill still came to ££116 although wine was £36 of this.

My wife and I have used Mimmo's restaurant for over 20yrs and each and every occasion we have had supper there, we have never been disappointed, all the staff go out of their way to make you feel completely at home, it seems to be very popular with American tourist and local belgravians alike, and the food is simply marvelous, with always a varied selection of the finest fair available on the day.
the wines are hand picked by Mimmo and complement the food just so. On one occasion Julie Andrews was enjoying her supper there a long with some other well known actors and actresses. As a host Mimmo cannot be faulted, his care and attention goes without question, and his Family recipe spare ribs are to die for, a real treat either as a starter or main course, it is an experience not to be missed.

On January 1, 1989 my wife and I had a wonderful dinner. Now it is time to have our beautiful daughter and son-in-law join us to see and experience the pleasure we have had with the excellent food, great service and most of all the personal touch of the owner and staff. It took us 4 hours of searching our records of 18 years ago to make sure that we could share our wonderful experiece with them. Thank you very much for this opportunity to share.

What's with the Mimmo thing? Good for time travel to the sixties when italian food must have been exotic. Food would be below standard in in a small town in the Midlands. In Belgravia 2007, at 30STG a pop for pasta without wine, you've got to laugh! May be the sea bass would have saved the day but I doubt it. Nice waiter, nice pictures but whatever it was that brought these people in, it's long gone.

We went to this restaurant on Valentines Day and having heard the great reviews we were not disappointed. This truely is a gem of a restaurant in London.
When you arrive Mimmo himself greets you along with his wife. The feel is cosy and a traditional hospitable family run restaurant. Everyone working there will stop and speak with you and ensure all is well with your meal. This place is full of character. The walls are full of pictures of all the famous people who have dined here.
The service is accurate, no one is writing your order down!, and efficent. The food arrives and is plentiful. The menu is varied with a great wine list and the seabass is sensational. Yes this was an expensive meal but i actually felt we should've paid more for having been treated so well. This sort of service is so rare now in this city.
I recommend you eat in this restaurant many times and increase the quality of your life. Me and my boyfriend will return time and time again.

This is a famous restaurant with pictures of all of the famous people who have eaten there. The staff are efficient and friendly yet quick.
They charge you £2 for the bread and give it to you automatically which is the norm in Italy but came as a surprise in England.
The dishes are huge so be prepared to share. The minestrone soup was excellent but my ravioli was very soggy and watery and I barely ate it.
The prices are very expensive and in my opinion not worth it. We paid £58 for water, two pastas and one soup.
I'm glad I tried it but wouldn't return even if it was free.

The best Italian restaurant by far this side of London. Great variety, friendly and efficient staff and fairly priced.
This is how an Italian restaurant should be. Plenty of personality.
