Inoffensive but pretty boring. The food was nothing to write home about and the staff stood around chatting and looking bored themselves. The beef with broccoli was ok, and so were the dumplings but the other stir fry dishes and the duck were below par.

Pork Goutei dumplings were good, that's about it.

Luk-On Tea had leaves, which did not sink, so every mouthful contained a mouthful of leaves, and there was no sieve...

Aromatic duck was less than average.

I ordered Beef Lao Mein (Ma la niu rou mein), but somehow got Chicken with black bean Lao Mein, which I decided to take anyway, it was frankly pretty rubbish, and quite honestly a massive portion, way too big to eat. Not a touch on Lao Mein I've had in Hong Kong and Singapore.

don't take any notice or be put off by the £18 average price stated on this site. i've found you can eat for £8-£10 a head with ease. food is good but not the best in its category. I'd much rather head towards Queensway for the really cheap option!

This is a review for the branch at 75 Southampton Row.

The food was ok. Something new if your experience of chinese food is a takeaway in Britain.

But the service was not upto standard for the price that was charged. A request for a glass of tap water was met with annoyance and several dirty looks.

Discovering later a 10% service charge was added to the bill was a little insulting.
