Ognisko Polskie

I have taken 5 of my collegues to the restaurant after attending Institute of directors conference. As none of them knew what to expect they were up for a challenge of'Polish experience'. On the arrival we had (traditional) shots of zubrowka vodka, which put us in a mood straight away. I remembered that the menus are presented in Polish and English so no hussle of translating for all just a simple advice about traditioal dishes like golonka(pork's leg), pierogi(staffed dumplings), barszcz(beetroot soup). I must add that there are certain dishes, which are not traditionally Polish like scallops, so the choice is extensive for all. The service was great, food fantastic. Shame that the weather still being too cold did not allow full utilisation of their terrace overlooking a small park. However the experience is not cheap. We have spent £50.00 per head for two courses, 3 bottles of wines and water.so as a treat is great but it is definately not a budget place. If you are on a budget consider Polish Cultural Centre in Ravenscourt Park. The final remark i would like to add, from my experience , please do not let the restaurant order you a cab from Regent Carriage Service (which they are using regulary), as they do not have meters and charge a fortune! See you there!
