Went to this restaurant as part of the London Restaurant Week. The food was absolutely aweful although the thai green curry was tolerable. We had to send back the pad thai as it was dripping in oil and ordered the lamb rump (medium to rare) instead. This too was tasteless and came well done. Eventually my friend was so hungry - he just ate it!!!
The staff were very friendly and efficient and the ambience was very nice and relaxed.
I would go back .... except for the food!

Agree with other reviewers that say this is a real find- had fabulous salmon sashimi, black cod with a miso dressing and blood orange sorbet for a recent dinner at The Park...staff are friendly and efficient and there is a general sense of calm and professionalism....start with a cocktail in their bar and have a wonderful evening at The Mandarin.

My girlfriend and I still talk about our dining experience at The Park even though we've dined at some of the best restaurants in the world. The service, food, atmosphere and value were faltless.

A friend recommended the 3-course meal and unlimited wine offer (£39 at weekends & £31 weekdays if dining before peak times). The service is attentive yet discreet and the food is imaginative, beautifully presented and generous yet not over-facing. Try the soft-shelled crab for starters - slightly alarming in its spiky loveliness but entirely edible and succulent. The sophisticated but unintimidating atmosphere is perfect for a low key celebration or romantic meal a deux.

i think this is the best hotel for afternoon tea in london. i've tried lots of them but i keep going back to the mandarin because of the beautiful, simple, elegant room with views over hyde park, the delicious and ample food (especially the rose petal jam and not so dainty scones) and the calmness of the staff. it's a real find too; not nearly so busy or blase as other more well known tea venues
