These reviews must have been written by the mass of people which work in the restaurant. Overall it was below-average, pricey, and not authentic. There were entirely too many people working in the restaurant given the number of customers. Looks like the place has been decorated by the crew of Kitchen Nightmares (post-flip).
I enjoy spicy food however you would never expect the mint yogurt to be spicy, perhaps they dropped some pepper in it as it burned the back of my throat on the first bite. The Keema Nan was burnt and the lamb flavorless. Oh and about the lamb, half the menu is lamb - if you like lamb a lot you might like this place. Surprisingly there was no butter chicken or chicken tika masala on the menu. I ordered the Chicken Karahi per the manager's recommendation (once he finally showed up to take my order) which was good tasting and very tender however it was covered in oil. The Pulao rice was below-average, frankly it wasn't fresh and I am used to a bit of saffron as well - perhaps that way isn't authentic. Cover was 1.50 and 10% service was included.
I've had much better. Will never go back.

We dined at Saloo's two weeks ago and had a wonderful experience. The food was superb, especially the lamb chops. The staff were very attentive despite being extremely busy. I would highly recommend this restaurant as we have been there many times. The food always been consistently of a high standard and we have been served very well by staff.

I went to Salloos last weekend with my husband and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious as always, service friendly and the ambience was really warm lovely. The chicken shish kebab was just the best I have ever eaten- tasty and succulent pieces of chicken marinated in the finest spices- and believe me I am one who does not like spicy food- this was just refined food- and not spicy. The tandoori rotis, lamb chops and kulfi were also delicious. Overall we had a truly pleasant evening and I would recommend Salloos to anyone who wants to have genuinely authentic food amid a great setting.

I was surprised to read this recent review as the Chicken Shish kabab at Saloos is one of my favourite dishes mainly for the fact that it is so delicately flavoured as believe me I dont like spicy food!! I was dining there with my family last Thursday and it was a wonderful experience. Saloos is one of my favourite restaurants as this is the one place where I can eat excellent food in a nice and cosy ambience. There are so many Indian/Pakistani/Asian restaurants in London that keep opening up and those are the ones that are over-priced with lack-lustre food. Saloos has been around for a long time and has a favourite clientele ( like me!) that keep returning as its one place where you really do have excellent food, warm service amid a nice setting. Other favourite dishes to most definitely go for are the lamb chops, the rotis ( the tandoor rotis-- the best ever) and the kulfi. Mmm- I think I need to definitely eat there again soon!

In a nutshell: Horribly expensive and not worth the time or money. A meal for four people, including two bottles of wine and service, came to £240. For that sort of cash, you'd be better off heading to one of London's Michelin-starred Indians. To be fair, the tandoori lamb was very good, but the meal took a nosedive from there. Everything was incredibly, ridiculously spicy, starting with the innocuous poppadums themselves, and no starter or main escaped the need to drink copious amounts of water afterwards. The chicken tikka main course, at around £16.00 or so (don't recall the exact price), consisted of two unfleshy pieces smothered in a ridiculously hot tandoori yoghurt paste. Both offered around three bites apiece. We ordered three vegetable side dishes, all prices at around £9.00, all floating in pools of grease and, again, overly hot on the tongue. For those prices, service should be spotless, but it wasn't, with just one waitress coping with too many tables and the maitre d' stepping in to help ease the backlog. Never to be repeated. Save your money. Go elsewhere.

Service very average. Food not very good. Small portions and not interesting.
Dreadfully expensive. Not to be repeated at half the price.

Having searched the web for an authentic indian / pakistani restaurant I was somewhat disapointed after visiting Salloos
The service was the main issue. We had to get up and find someone to serve us drinks, then again to order the meal and again for dessert before giving up and asking for the bill and skipping coffee.
This poor service is quite unusual for this stlye of restaurant, and having marketed this as a 'family run' restaurant - there were no family members in sight, which is a shame as the staff didnt seem to want to be there or understand about this type of food / menu.
Overall the food was very good, but sorry to say it is overpriced (even considering the location). I wouldnt mind paying these prices if it was a more pleasurable experience i.e staff were trained in basic service skills with a smile.

We had just arrived London, checked into the hotel and were craving indian food. We asked the hotel concierge for an Indian/Pakistani restaurant nearby, he suggested this restaurant that was 5 minutes of a walk from our hotel.
1. Food - We ordered the lamb biryani, lamb chops, chicken shish, and naans. The food was extremely over-priced and the quality was not that great either. The lamb chops that people are raving about were not cooked properly. I found the meat to be quite dry and stiff. The lamb biryani contained extremely over-powering spices (loads of garam masala). Don't get me wrong, I love spicy food, but the balance of spices was completely out of order here. The only food item that we liked were the naans. We managed to finish the food as we were starved after our journey.
2. Wait time - horrible, our food arrived after waiting for over 45 minutes.
3. Service - dismal, the owner/waiter (man dressed in a suit and tie did not have any table manners) and 2 other girls (wait staff) kept on hovering around our table for no reason and just staring at us. It does not matter what part of the world you are from, I found this kind of behavior to be extremely rude and interrupting. Due to jet lag I was very thirsty, all I wanted was plain water with my food and heard the owner from a distance making fun of my ordering tap water in a derogatory manner. Little did he know that I know hindi/urdu and very well understood each and every word coming out of his mouth. Moreover, they seemed to be over-staffed for the limited number of tables that were occupied by customers.
4. Atmposphere/location: no music, tight space for larger groups, restaurant name not displayed outside the building (poor signage).
Summary of review:
Reasonable wait time: NO
Good for kids/family friendly: NO
Good for groups: NO
Service: Hopelessly horrible
Rude owner/wait staff: YES
Next time I visit London, would not go to Salloo's again and would not recommend it to anyone else either.
