I went to the Thai Terrace last night with my girlfriend and we had the set dinner. It was absolutely the best thai food I have had in London and the atmosphere and service was fabulous.

I would recommend this to everyone!!!

I'll give Thai Terrace a mixed review. I loved the food, both the grilled prawns to start, and the mixed seafood noodle dish for the main course. Both dishes were well-seasoned, not bland in the least, and there was neither ketchup nor tomatoes in either.

The service was for the most part efficient, except that I had to ask twice for water--pretty much the standard for most restaurants unless you're ordering bottled water, then it comes right away. My problem with the service was this: I walked in around 22,30, and asked if they were still open. The woman behind the bar said yes, and I was promptly seated. There were still 3 other groups in the dining room at this time. By the time my main course arrived, I was the sole diner in the restaurant. This was just around 23.00. Four women servers stood in the dining room the entire time, chatting away in Mongolian, looking bored out of their minds. I felt hurried and that I was keeping them from something they'd much rather be doing. They kept looking at me, at every bite of food or sip of wine. It was both annoying and stressful. What was I to do, tell them to carry on their conversation in another room? Be forewarned, that if you go in toward the end of their evening, they'll brow beat you into eating quickly.

Good food though!

I have had Thai food, in Thailand and elsewhere. This is just ugly food. Hanging an elephant tapestry and a Thai Food sign hardly makes a place Thai.

AVOID THIS PLACE!

The Thai people are friendly and warm, normally smiling. This place was unwelcoming and icy, at best. I would have just walked back out, but the reviews said it was very good.

The prices were high, the quantity was nearly as low as the tasteless food, except for the coconut milk chicken dish, which was fair. I cannot recall having such bland food anywhere, save my prisoner-of-war training.

The staff offered us a cramped corner; we are large people. The 'service' went downhill from there, and even water seemed a chore. This Chinese staff reminded me of a hotel restaurant in Shanghai, under full Communist 'incentives'; so unlike today.

Some reviews can be quite harsh and undeserving, however what I have to say about this restaurant cannot be further from the truth.

Where do we begin? I live in Thailand so naturally I am aware of how Thai food are supposed to taste like. One may assume I have high expectations due to my nationality but I have been to addies, thai taste and churchill...all of which may sometime not be truly authetic but has never failed to satisfy my taste buds.

Thai Terrace...honestly they don't deserve to be labelled as a Thai restaurant...truth be told, not even a restaurant. I have never felt so displeased from anything I have eaten in my life, albeit a relatively expensive restaurant.

I got food delivered from this restaurant to appreciate some thai food with a friend. Yet the whole time we sat there looking, picking on the food thinking, 'this restaurant really should stop wasting ingredients'. WIth the appearance dreadful, already being skeptical of the quality, the usual joy of tasting each dish that we had ordered had become a nightmare.

Some of the reviews mentioned the use of excessive tomato sauce and I could not agree more. Since when did tomato sauce play a crucial role in thai food? Not even Italian food contains so much tomato.

If this place had opened purely for the reason for financial benfits from the popularity of thai restaurant in london, for the sake of public, please close down this restaurant. Harsh, I know. But trust me, I am not one to write reviews normally, quite easy to please and can appreciate all kinds of food but, when what you get is a piece of crap, I feel it is my duty to report this to prevent further damage to your stomachs.

Oh, and its overpriced...by a mile. One should be paid for consuming such horrible food.

It's just like garbage.

Also, if you need further convincing, I have plenty more to comment on regarding this restaurant.

The person on the phone, does she speak English? Where is she from? Why is she picking up the phone when she cannot communicate in English? Saying it will take 20 min (fair enough, we can give that perhaps an extra 10 min)...but no, 40 minutes later, we call again where she confirms that the food is currently on the way. And after another 20 min, still waiting for the food and keeping in mind I do live around 5 min away from the restaurant, we call them again and she dares to show annoyance towards us...? Finally you'd think our food will come. But no, when she checks on the delivery woman, god knows what shes been up to...she clearly has no sense of direction or any idea how to get to my place. Honestly, I live in a big building, maybe she needs to go see an optician. or a brain surgeon.

And honestly, what kind of delivery person doesn't hold a pen when she clearly requires a signature? Does the inventory of this restaurant consist of only tomatoes?

Take a guess where the delivered food is currently? Practically untouched and thrown right down the bin. What a waste of 60 pounds.

If you are not put off by this review and still willing to try this restaurant, because...perhaps you're courageous, well its really up to you. Just don't forget to comment later because I have a small suspicion it won't be much different from ours.

If you have any problem with us, feel free to contact us.
