Putney Tandoori

After moving south of the river, i went in search of a good curry house. After several miserable experiences, i came across putney tandoori. Fantastic Food - reasonably priced and very welcoming. worth a visit...

As i entered, i felt astounded by the simplicity and authenticity of this restaurant. The warm colours and the cosy chairs coaxed my family in to be greeted warmly by the owner of Putney Tandoori. Placing our orders, my family were treated to Poppadoms whilst we waited for our starters. The starters were truly wonderful with special reference to the Chicken Tikka which was delicious. My bustling family of five enjoyed the main course and dessert and from then on Putney Tandoori has become our regular haunt!

I am in London on business and was looking for a good Indian restaurant, I googled "Putney Indian" and I found this restaurant. I thought the reviews and location were appealing, so why not. I was not disappointed and thought that the food and service were excellent! I highly recommend this place!!!

I have been usuing the PT for a good few years now, and have found it to be good value, friendly service and overall the best Indian in the area.

However, I am sorry to say that following a recent visit, I have to report that a mysterious 10% service charge was added to my bill. The fact that a service charge always annoys me and i leave exactly the amount on the bill means that the PT is onto a loser here - especially as i would imagine that the majority of its customers would give more (myself included under the old regime) than 10%. Apart from that they seemed seriously short of staff - only the proprietor and the one waiter for a saturday night? - come on PT!

I have lived in Putney for over 15 years and think this is the BEST Indian restaurant in the area. The service is 10 out of 10 and the food seems to possess that extra special flavour, which you only seem to get if you pay top whack. So this really is value for money on every level. An excellent choice if you're strolling around and looking for somewhere to eat.

Great food, superb service. I never get take away as it's 5 mins walk but I go in and have a beer while I wait for it to be cooked. The owner is always doing his best to make everyone welcome and I often get a few free poppadoms while I wait! Decor is not amazing but that's not why people go there.

This restaurant definitely beats all other restaurants when it comes to service, food and value for money. The food was delicious, the service was very fast and it was superb value for money. I have also ordered takeaways from this restaurant and they reached my doorstep in less than 10 mins after I placed the phone down! I have never had a takeaway reach me in such a short time, just 10 minutes and tasted great!
