I've eaten here a couple of times, just out of sheer geographical convenience rather than anything. Both times I just found everything deeply, deeply average. Not actively bad, just enough below par to make me not want to go back.
The food was just alright, although it took a long time to arrive. Lamb was a little tough and for the prices charged I thought the portions were on the small side, which I wouldn't have minded so much if the food had blown me away, but it really was average at best. The service was fairly disinterested, and it all seemed rather sombre.
Just an average curry house. There are better options on the Lower Richmond Road.

Just ordered a takeaway that took over two hours without an apology on delivery. This was after three phone calls asking if there was a problem. To make matters worse the food was cold and was served half empty. The cost was extortionate, I would have been cheaper going out for a meal. Don't waste your time on this place.

First visit tonight since last year and I wish I hadnt bothered. Prices gone up, food quality and quantity gone down. Even the popadoms have shrunk and had no taste. Hardly any meat in my dish at all. Very sad. Probably why the place was almost empty.

Being a very popular figure in the Putney area, it is no suprise reading many of the reviews below that the owner has made a few enemies! Firstly, I can assure any reader that the PT is unrivalled when it comes to high quality food and service. The chefs never fail to deliver and the waiters are always willing to go the extra mile. It's a shame anyone would write such lies to discourage potential customers but I can say that this is one restaurant you have to visit!

Best curry in Putney. Local for 6 years now and nothing can beat it. The owner is charming, remembers us by name, gives us plenty of free extras and most importantly, the food is the same good quality every time.

Lived in Putney for two years and this is the first time we had decided to order from this indian restaurant/take-away, and it will definitely be the LAST!!
Ordered online and received a confirmation email. Then when the order didn't turn up, 1 hour and a half later, we decided to call them to see what was happening.
I would have spoken to at least three different people, each just fobbing me off to the next. They told me they had no record of my order and i would need to place the order again. This was after they had told me that they had already tried to deliver it, but when they called our phone number no-one answered (which was a complete lie because our phone never rang!). After being palmed off from one person to the next, the last man told us our order was on the way and hung up on us. We then rang them back to let them know we didn't expect to pay full price for our meal, and they said if we weren't going to pay then we should just send the order back to them.
Completely rude - without any sense of customer service. Will never, ever attempt to order food from them again, and strongly advise others to steer clear.

Just moved to Putney and have been a few times in the past 3 months and have used the takeaway services too. Average at best and going downwards. The service is poor unless i suspect you become a regular. Food is very much the same irrespective of choice and the portions (in particular when ordering takeaway) are mean considering the price you are paying.
Have gone back to our local in Battersea even if it means a 40 min round trip.
Shame really but perhaps they have got lazy.

absolute rubbish food usually go to star of india old brompton road which is fantastic proper food beautifully cooked thought go to local was tired big big mistake.
had chicken dansak should be slightly sweet with rich lentil sauce this was dark brown sticky and revolting not to mention about five small pieces in a load of sauce rip off cobra at £4.79 a bottle so although you think u are saving money by going to a local curry house this ones over charges for poor food with small portions at inflated prices our meal for three was £70 star of india would have been £100 but at least it would be worth it take my advice if u want take away order holy cow a different league to this or if u want proper curry star of india or noor jahaan

Suspect reviews on this place. This place is nothing extra ordinary. Food is okay, meat dishes a tad rubbery. Its really a one place wonder if you are not living in Putney, and I agree with a previous reviewer this place seems like more of a social place rather than a place for good grub. Anyway if you want a normal curry its okay. The menu is rather dear. Local takeaways in the area offer better value and better grub try and test is my suggestion.
