The Player

I have been going to The Player now for a good number of years - have hosted and been too many a good birthday bash there, know the bar staff well and also the cocktail menu! HOWEVER the management of the bar has recently changed and I have to say I have never met a nastier, more unprofessional manager as I did last weekend. The rudeness of this man knows no bounds – having happily taken our £200 bill he made my party (which included a senior event organiser no less!) feel patronised and unwelcome, and we will no longer be going there for social events. Hopefully The Player will return to normality and become the friendly, welcoming bar it always was, but until then AVOID AT ALL COSTS, there are much better bars around the corner that aren't so appallingly run.

I used to go to The Player all the time back in 200 and end of '97. It's was a really nice friendly and trendy place to hang out. What's happened went there last week, firstly the doorman couldn't decided if there was a guest list or not first no then yes. Haveing finally got in it we sat down with a few drinks only to be asked to move to a corner fifteen mins later we were then asked to move again becasue we were at the wrong reserved table. Gosh the whole thing was SO unprofessional and put everyone off we left. Not a good atmosphere seems to have changed so much..definitely one to leave to the kids. Sorry but The Player has passed its time..opt for Coccoon, The Grill Rooms hey anywhere give this one a miss if you don't want your evening spoiled!! x
