I heard great things about this place: authentic bbq and great lobster and other specialties.

this was a complete joke, me and a couple of friends visiting.

rude and inattentive service, dirty table and the BBQ tasted like it was cooked three or four times then just drowned in generic BBQ sauce, which is the kind you can get in any Safeway in the US.

the lobster was filled with water and just deflated once it got to us

frozen margaritas were barely frozen, i don't think their machines work properly...

I visited the Big Easy a long time ago and had a good time so when I was looking for a place to go with a big group of friends we decided to come here. I tried to phone the restaurant but the line kept clicking off so I sent an email asking to book a table for 15 people. We were told that we would have to get one of the party menus, the cheapest of which is £25/person with no drinks included. This was surprising since we had been planning to get the all you can eat fajitas + margarita at £15/person.. considerably cheaper.

We ended up deciding to get two different tables, one of 8 and one of 7 and i was told it would have to be at 6.45 rather than at 7. This wasn't ideal but I emailed and said yes, I'd definitely like to book those tables. I was then told that our booking had been given away to someone else, even though we had been discussing it over email for 24 hours at this point. We were told one of our tables would have to come at 6.30. But, I was told, this would mean that the tables could be next to each other.

- When we arrived, the tables were not next to each other.

- The food at one of the tables took forever to arrive even though tables around us were being brought seconds

- The order at the other table was done wrong, they missed one person's food completely so we had to wait longer

- The waitresses/waiters were rude and deliberately bumped into people on the way to the bathroom

- Some of the food was cold on arrival

- One of the table was directly under the air con so food was cold after a few minutes

- They have drinks offers that are only available at the bar upstairs

They do have big portions but ultimately I don't think i would visit again.

This American themed restaurant really ought to get their service back up to American par, because I'm about to start returning to Bill Wyman's.

Since moving to London from the USA I had become used to the British way of service and customer care and accepted that the states are just more enthusiastic about ribs, crab and buckets of beer!! Then I found the Big Easy last summer and was delighted to find authentic american (gorgeous) waitresses and friendly back-home smiles and service. (and did I mention gorgeous..!!!?)

I am wondering now, ... what happened since then!?

Big Easy, I'll give you one more chance! If 3rd time isn't the charm, its back to summer BBQ in the garden, or I'll take my friends to Wyman's.

Get it together please, do it for the Americans in town!! July 4th should have been a no brainer for location, now.. not so sure!

has big easy re-branded themselves? service was below-par, merely had an eastern european waiter scribble down my order and be off to smoke surely since we didnt see them again for the entire service. Atmosphere has gone to the dogs, dont worry my ribs would at least suit THEM fine.

My partner and I have been going to the Big Easy for years and have never had a bad meal. Today we went for a special Birthday and disaster, it was a totally different experience. Staff not as friendly, food definitely would have been better off at the Harvester. I hate overcooked greasy fries. That was my last visit for sure.

Went ti the big easy tonight for the 1st time and the food was rubbish....Had the all u can eat bbq for 14.95, trouble being the ribs are tasteless so u really wouldn't want more....Service was abysmal and we refused point-blank to leave a tip at all-that's how bad it was.....the big e gives texas bbq's and american food a bad name....The free beer wasn't even american and they didn't even do rootbeer-waste of time and money...

Fun restaurant, cheerful service, excellent American steaks (expensive), excellent lobster (reasonably priced), tasteless spare ribs covered in thick sauce. Warning: a service charge is added to your bill but when they bring the credit card machine, they hand it to you and ask if you would like to add service. Very bad, unethical trick - so be careful not to tip for service twice!

I first came to this restaurant in 1997 and loved it. Ever since it has become progressively worse. For example, today, two of our orders were incorrect, and when I finally got my 'tiger shrimp skewer' it arrived with 6 small prawns glued to two wooden skewers so you could not even remove them from the skewers. They came on a plate with what can only be described as a bag of tortilla chips. £14.95!!! The skewered prawn caesar salad comes with 3 prawns. The whole bill came to £87 including an added 12.5% service and upon payment they ask you if you would like to add a gratuity. Bluebird is just up the road and for the same price you will get decent service and decent wine; the prawns may have some flavour too!

Im a head chef in a well known restaurant and i was reading the reviews majority of them bad and a few amazing so i was curious to go and check in what foot stand this place and why is so busy.....believe or not was a waste of time and i understand the complaints,,, a rude hostess,a very good offer in cocktails on happy hours, the service poor and slow and a steak that suppose to be medium and arrive well done and for my surprise when i ask to talk with the manager he was rude and without knowing nothing about food times and if the fries come burn and not cook inside they suppose to lower the frier temperature ....just avoid, waste of money,no customer service but save the bartenders

Gourmet Chick

Gourmet Chick - 6/10

Monday, November 10, 2008 - The tables at Big Easy are laid with cheery red and white checked table cloths while the wood panelled walls are covered with signs spouting home-spun wisdom. I can't help but feel as if I have wandered into the movie set for Sweet Home Caroline...A huge platter to share arrives at our table loaded up with a selection of the different entrees on offer. The "Voodoo" chicken wings are very good with quite a spicy kick to the sauce lightly covering the plump chicken wings. I am not so keen on the breadcrumbed unidentifiable fish or the greasy deep fried calamari.
