I truly think that this restaurant gets a bad rap and people never actually comment when they have had a good experience.

I visited last night and had a really lovely time. Having lived in the Gulf Coast of Florida, this crab shack had a lot to live up to. I really enjoyed it. Service was non-intrusive but fast and friendly and the food was simple non-fussy and just what you want from a crab shack.

Once seated, (after a leisurely drink at the bar - at our request) I was excited about the plethora of delights on the menu. I opted for the fajitas, being the biggest fajita lover in London and my boyfriend had the steak - clearly a winner! The great atmosphere, lovely cocktails, fab company and good old-fashioned American sized portions of tasty food fit the bill just nicely. Talking of the bill - it was great value for money too.

Of course there are some people who are just not into the crab shack style of dining, but this is classic Gulf Coast living........just enjoy it for what it is.

Booked a table for 9pm, at their request, I wanted it at 8.30pm. After being told it will be ready in ten minutes four times was still waiting at 9'45pm. Meanwhile all they wanted to do was get us to the bar to spend money. An absolute disgrace, ended up walking out. An evening ruined, thanks a lot.

Went to the Big Easy last night in a group of 10 of us based on my experience of going there before.

Gone Downhill are the best words to sum it up. We had a nightmare booking, first being told two weeks ago that we could only book a table of eight maximum as per their policy, so we booked and eight and a two and then last week we were told we could have a table for ten. Luckily one of the group dropped out at the last minute as the table could only seat nine as one seat was completely blocked by another table.

Bottles of beer that we were brought were warm and when we complained they just brought buckets of ice to put them in.

The food at best was average, ribs were dry and pretty tasteless and the seafood platter was a few prawn crackers, some fried squid and a few mussels.

Not sure what has happened to the big easy but I don't think I will bother returning until they can return to their previous level of quality.

The big easy is now a bit queasy!

Don't go! The serivce at this restaurant is worse than awful

We went on a Friday evening and were seated right on top of the live band - fine if you don't want to talk to the other members of your party.

We waited 40mins for a bottle of wine - 50mins for our starters and after waiting a total of 2 hours left without our main course.

The waitresses didn't listen to our requests to check on the progress of our order and everything was very disorganised.

We were not the only table very disapointed, others were also leaving hungry as the food took so long and the service was dreadful.

We have tried subsequently to contact the restaurant to complain, but all email communication is ignored - the Big Easy obviously doesn't care about its customers it just wants their money.

I love the big easy - it's so friendly and the food is delicious! I've had the best ribs there and they do great cocktails - I recommend the frozen margaritas!!

Last time I went with my boyfriend on a date and the band had us dancing in the aisles - it was so much fun! They also do some great offers every night like a lobster deal and all you can eat fajitas - so it's great value! You don't have to spend much at all as the portion size is so enormous!

If you want boring - this place isn't for you!

Really surprised at some of the comments previously - I went with some friends last week and had a fab time! Service was great, food was delicious and very generous and the live music was really fun!

I don't think it's as expensive as it could be for the Kings Road and with steak and lobster on the menu I think it's fair. I've been several times as they have a really good wine list that is not hugely marked up for Chelsea.

I'd highly recommend it - for somewhere fun, kid friendly with great food.

Big Easy used to be a great, fun retaurant with good food. Management must have changed as the food last night was simply appalling. We were there for a special occassion, they served only half the table starters and the mains came 2 hours after we had sat down. The meat was inedible and the chicken awful. I haven't eaten food this bad in London. AVOID this place at all costs.

Gourmet Chick - 6/10

Monday, November 10, 2008 - The tables at Big Easy are laid with cheery red and white checked table cloths while the wood panelled walls are covered with signs spouting home-spun wisdom. I can't help but feel as if I have wandered into the movie set for Sweet Home Caroline...A huge platter to share arrives at our table loaded up with a selection of the different entrees on offer. The "Voodoo" chicken wings are very good with quite a spicy kick to the sauce lightly covering the plump chicken wings. I am not so keen on the breadcrumbed unidentifiable fish or the greasy deep fried calamari.
