I love Big Easy, it is a favourite place of mine, having visited many times in the past and enjoying the great good, buzzy atmosphere and live music. After a year or so of not visiting I decided to come back with my boyfriend for a special meal. My boyfriend and I went on a Wednesday, it was busy and the lady designating tables suggested we wait at the bar, have a drink then she would seat us. We took advantage of the two for one cocktails during happy hour although the rasberry margeritas tasted bit like slush puppies with so much slushy ice. We had two drinks and were still waiting, turns out she had forgotten about us which was annoying. When this was brought to her attention she quickly found at table for us downstairs, the weird thing was there were lots of free tables downstairs so I couldnt understand why we had been made to wait. The waiter was very friendly and our table was fine, if a little wobbly. We ordered our food which didn't take long to arrive. I loved the deep fried giant shrimp, they were seriously yummy and my maine lobster was lovely as always, delicious in fact, although its a shame that the hollandaise sauce that accompanied it was so tasteless and poor. The other food we had was not to the standard I have come to expect from Big Easy. The BBQ ribs were a let down, drowning in too much sauce and not enough meat on the ribs. Also the beans that accompanied them tasted like something out of Heinz can mixed with kidney beans and the coleslaw was watery and tasteless, it was shockingly bad. In addition the crab claws I had for a starter were quite tasteless and served on ice that had melted leaving a soggy and unappetising starter. All in all a mixed evening of good and bad although its a shame that I had come to expect a wonderful experience at Big Easy and this is not what I received this time round, standards have slipped and I hope they can be improved because this place is really cool and used to be really special.

First of all i thought the food was great, especially the deep fried shrimps! they were delicious!
HOWEVER! the service was pretty appalling! the waiter that we had wasn't that friendly at all (even though we did have a nice waitress now and then).
It was my friend's birthday dinner that night and we actually bought him a very nice expensive cake,so, by the time it was brought to our table, the cake looks rather different to how it look before. it had moved and someone seems to have touched it! since the happy birthday bit was wonky and half of it was smudged -Alot! we then complained to the waiter and he blamed it on the kitchen staff and didnt even apologise or even care!
after that he even brought us the wrong bill. this time he said sorry.
overall, the food was definately expensive but better than a few american based restaurants i know around london.

I have been to the Big Easy a few times for an evening meal, so thought i would take my wife & 2 year old son for lunch. The concierge didn't give us a warm welcome at all. The waitress did not tell us about the meal deals. I had to ask for the drinks menu and then i had to order my drinks with another waitress.
There was another couple after us that got the same treatment. The ribs looked like they had been cooked 2 hours before we got there and there was hardly any meat on them.
I complained to the person taking my money who couldn't care less.
Bad service, bad food and will NEVER go back.

Similar to previous reviewer I've been going to Big Easy for 15+ years very regularly. Was a great place tro eat a brill night out until recently. The manager left and went back to the states. Unfortunately it has taken a great turn for the worst....I gave it a few chances to work under new management but service is really poor with wrong orders and confused staff. The food consistently arrives cold to the table. When I complained they took my complaint on board and got hot portions, but last time we ate there a few of us had to do this which gave the meal a Faulty Towers feel. My last disaster was arriving having booked a table for myself and seven friends on a Saturday night. On arrival I was told that they couldnt find my booking so we had to leave. Very sad to see what was my favourite London party restaurant totally on the skids. Bye Bye Big Easy!

Since I first went there in the early 90's, this was the best place in London for burgers and ribs. We've been there twice this year and both times were AWFUL. And I mean AWFUL. We gave it a second chance, just in case it was a fluke, but if anything, this evening was worse than a few months ago. It's clearly on the ropes too - several empty tables and nobody asked us if we'd enjoyed our meal. They know the answer and look somewhat shamefaced as they remove the plates. It's such a shame, but we're going to have to find somewhere new. Do yourselves a favour - if you like good quality food, go elsewhere.

I would agree with the great atmosphere of the place, but the food is average to say the least! Ribs are soaked in bbq sauce and no meat on them and the shared entrees were heavily fried, so overall definitely not an impressive dinner at all. Not sure why everyone is so ecstatic about the place!

I went to Big Easy on Sunday with some friends, first time I had ever been (soon to be the first of many) This place is packed with celebrities. I popped in on Friday to book a table and Liam Gallagher was having lunch and when we arrived we sat on a table next to Gordon Ramsay and his family, the chef must have been terrified! No need though Gordon couldn't stop singing the praises of the place and especially his sons ribs. I totally agree it was real American food cooked perfectly. Food is Great, service some of the best in London and the atmosphere is unbeatable in London. I would say to anyone if you want to have fun and good food you MUST try this place.

Big Easy is as its name definition (BIG portions and easy atmosphere). The food is great and value for money, portions are bigger than any other restaurant in the area. They definetely have the best surf and turf ever. The bar has a massive range of beer and it does also have fresh quality fruit and juices cocktails, you could even smell the fruit flavours as you pass in front of it.
I will come back with my eyes close and will be also becoming a regular to show off with friends and family.

Went to Big Easy for lunch the other day and ended up staying all afternoon. Loving the lobster and margarita combo: totally awesome and my boyfriend (big steak addict) couldn’t get enough of his massive steak, lobster and wine. Big Easy is an old favourite, with great service, unbeatable value for money food and a brilliant atmosphere. Rock on!!!
