Disappointed with this branch. Compared to my experience at their Bluewater branch they were, unfortunately, not fyne.

The food was great, especially the oysters.
However, the service was poor. My sister and I arrived at the restaurant without a reservation made. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a waiter who appeared to be unfriendly. The reason for this is that, we were told we could only be given the table nearest to the entrance of the restaurant (busy part of the restaurant) when there was, in actual fact, another empty table at the back of the restaurant. When we requested for the table at the back of the restaurant, the waiter insisted that only that table nearest to the entrance could be given to us because the other table has to be given to another two ladies. However, it has to be taken note that that two ladies mentioned, not only arrived later than us, but also had not had a reservation made. Worst of all, those ladies had not requested for the table at the back of the restaurant. Therefore, we could not understand why the waiter refused to give us the table we asked for, neither could we understand why were the ladies who came later than us were given priority over us.
Second reason would be this, half way through dinner, one of the waiters had the glass door of the entrance kept opened (perhaps to get fresh air in the restaurant?). However, did he not realise that I was sitting right in front of the entrance? Was he expecting me to enjoy my dinner in cold? This is another thing I could not understand either. But luckily, before I could actually complain about it to a staff, the manager (I think) thought that it was too much for them to have the glass door kept opened especially when there was a customer sitting right in front of it. Now AT LEAST, there is someone of a right mind working there!!!

Service was a little inconsistent. We definitely got the waiter who really chose the wrong profession and the restaurant could do with taking a couple of tables away, very cramped. Great food though.

We visited Loch Fyne Covent Garden last night (31/07/10) staff and service excellent. we both had mussells to start which were to 'die for' followed by herb crusted cod and pan fried sea bass, with eyes bigger than bellies this was followed by cheesecake and a cheese board all washed down with Rose. The total cost inc tip a little over £70.We weren't rushed despite the restaurant being busy and a Sat night will certainly recommend and return. Very enjoyable evening
