Nothing special! We've been to many better seafood restaurants!

The Food is OK but I wouldn't say definitely I'll be back or I recommend it.

the plates wasn't clean - hate dirty oily spots on the plates

A friend recommend it to us very much but I wouldn't do so

In May of last year, my wike and I celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniiversary. One of the gifts we received was tokens to the value of £40.00: very nice.

Both of us were greatly looking forward to using these vouchers at your Norwich branch as and when the opportunity permitted. Our anticipation was heightened by the fact that in May of our ruby year, we had actually spent a few days at Loch Fyne in Scotland.

So it was then that on Sunday last we strode off to St Giles Street, much looking forward to some typical fishy fare. Indeed there was much from which to choose, but, shock horror, no Dover or lemon sole. Now, as folks who eat out fairly regularly, and knowing that Dover sole, (my favourite), was in season, I was dismayed to be told by your very pleasant and helpful staff, that neither were available. I chose a steak which in truth, I could have eaten anywhere. To compund this sad omission, the chips with which I was served were burnt, and farnkly ought not to have been served at all. This was pointed out to you staff, who deleted them from the bill.

Despite this diatribe, I am not one of the world's whingers, but feel that such things should be nipped in the bud. An explanation as to why no soles were available in one of the country's premier fish restaurants would be appreciated at your convenience.

Was amazed when I read the reviews about the covent garden loch fyne restaurant as my experience could not have been better. Me & my husband had mussels as a starter and they were to die for!! Main meals were also really tasty and certainly not inedible. Service was the best we had encountered in any of the other restaurants we used during our stay. So well done and keep it up!

Staff were abrupt "wait a second"... was one response when we asked if the salad sides were on the way. Portions were small, I was served five luke warm and small scallops as a main for £14, having to buy veg for £2. Glass of wine took a while to come, came after I had finished my five scallops. Would not suggest a visit, however family enjoyed sea bass dishes and atmosphere was nice, baked or smoked fish dishes were praised.

Went to Loch Fyne Covent Garden last night. Very nice restaurant / nice atmosphere! However, service was appalling and the food was way under par for a restaurant that specialises in seafood.

Terrible bread that tasted days old was brought to us at the beginning.

Two of us had the grilled squid salad as starters - squid pieces were cut too large and seemed undercooked - not enjoyable in the least!

My friend's salmon was overcooked in the whisky and shellfish sauce.

And the SERVICE! We were so relieved that we weren't sitting downstairs or we would have most definitely been forgotten! One of the waiters had the personality of Igor in a classic horror movie!

Wouldn't go back to be honest....I can get better service and quality of food elsewhere.

The seafood platter was excellent, as usual - fortunately, nature's gifts are hard to spoil. But the fish soup was inedible. I couldn't taste any fish in it - only tomato sauce and indecent amount of pepper. The carpaccio of yellowfin tuna would be delicious, had the chef not drown it in pepper. Pepper seems to be a specialty at this Loch Fyne venue. Shame, for other Loch Fyne restaurants, eg in Oxford, serve really good food at really good prices. PS My friend is a vegetarian, and the only thing they had for her at the Covent Garden venue was a suspiciously smelling chickpea casserole.

We went there on Friday 25 July 2008.

We had two plates of oysters, and ordered a smoked fish pie and fish with mashed potatoes. The oysters were fine. The rest of the order was very salty, tasteless. The fish with mash was soaking in a garlic sauce which was hiding the savour of the (already) very salty fish.

Last but not least, wine was an insult and certainly not the one I had ordered. and was served warm. What is it with a lot of London restaurants to serve wine in a full glass? this kills wine savour and all the pleasure associated with drinking wine.

Total bill: GBP 78. overkilling for that kind of quality. We don't recommend.

Very disappointed with this restaurant and the customer service offered by the company, i visited the restaurant on the 5th July 2008, my 9 year old daughter wanted the king prawns in garlic, the waitress was aware this dish was for a 9 year old, when the dish was served it was just FIVE king prawns (hardly a main meal) with the full shell and heads on, i gave my meal to my daughter & at the end of the meal the waitress asked if we enjoyed our meal? When i told here about the prawns not being suitable for a child and the way they were served should have been mentioned as she was aware it was for a child she said she would speak to the manager (Jim) i was watching the conversation and he dismissed the complaint and did not wish to speak to me! I had already paid but just wanted the opportunity to address this issue with the manager. I emailed Loch Fyne restaurant regarding this and to this date i have had no response.

I dined at this restaurant the week before when they were not as busy and the food and service was ok, but when they are busy forget it you would be better the choose another restaurant.

My opinion is that the restaurants owners have total disregard for its patrons satisfaction and is purely interested in the money. If this attitude continues i do not see them maintaining a good reputation, which ultimately could see the end of the chain.

I am a seafood addict and haven't found anything in London that would satisfy my taste buds and my wallet,...until I visited Loch Fyne...Fantastic place. the fish and oysters were deliciously fresh and melted in your mouth. The tuna carpaccio is to die for! All for a fair price. At last delicious fresh fish in London!
