it's a mirror image of Edera just across Holland Park, similiar price point (toppy but not outrageous), menu, layout, clientele, service levels. Timo was slightly buzzier on a Sat night visit but Edera just shades it on food. Solid local choice but not one to travel across town to without a reason.

We visited on a Monday night when it was fairly quiet with no one turning up before 8pm. Atmosphere was alright although fairly subdued but it was a Monday, it was better when there was music playing in the background although for some reason this kept going off for long periods which was a bit of a shame.

Food was excellent although I found it the total bill (£90) very expensive considering that 3 of us only had one pasta course each, one beer, two glasses of house wine and the cheapest half bottle of red but I suppose cover charges, tip etc do add up. I will definitely go back for the lunch offer which looks like great value.

Service was efficient although not that friendly (maybe the manager was having a bad day or was annoyed that we were only ordering one course) but I really wasn't impressed by him. The other staff were good.

I had supper here with my wife last night. We arrived quite early and there was only one other table there, so the atmosphere was eerily quiet. It soon got busy though but not at all packed. Quite a wierd little place in my opinion; like a dark sitting room in someone's house.

I agree with the review below - the maitre'd was charming and the service very good overall. When the bill came, they tried to charge me for an extra £10 starter which I found a little annoying as there were only two of us eating and it was obvious to the waiter that we had only had a starter and main course each. It might have been a genuine mistake but I am not convinced. They apologised in any event which was appreciated.

The food was really good - excellent tuna carpaccio to start with, followed by some very rich but delicious pasta with asparagus, pancetta and black truffles. Laden with butter and definitely not for a calorie counter (I am not). Likewise my wife's artichoke risotto - so much so that she could not finish it. The portion sizes were generous.

Price wise, it was about right for a smart Italian restaurant - £80 for two starters, two main courses, two glasses of prosecco, a glass of very nice red wine, a bottle of sparkling water and including service.

Overall, I liked it and might return but personally I prefer a trattoria type of Italian restaurant which this is not.
