I had supper here with my wife last night. We arrived quite early and there was only one other table there, so the atmosphere was eerily quiet. It soon got busy though but not at all packed. Quite a wierd little place in my opinion; like a dark sitting room in someone's house.
I agree with the review below - the maitre'd was charming and the service very good overall. When the bill came, they tried to charge me for an extra £10 starter which I found a little annoying as there were only two of us eating and it was obvious to the waiter that we had only had a starter and main course each. It might have been a genuine mistake but I am not convinced. They apologised in any event which was appreciated.
The food was really good - excellent tuna carpaccio to start with, followed by some very rich but delicious pasta with asparagus, pancetta and black truffles. Laden with butter and definitely not for a calorie counter (I am not). Likewise my wife's artichoke risotto - so much so that she could not finish it. The portion sizes were generous.
Price wise, it was about right for a smart Italian restaurant - £80 for two starters, two main courses, two glasses of prosecco, a glass of very nice red wine, a bottle of sparkling water and including service.
Overall, I liked it and might return but personally I prefer a trattoria type of Italian restaurant which this is not.

Timo is our favourite Italian place in London - and coming from an Italian, this is no mean feat! The food is authentic and innovative at the same time - excellent original ingredients, but prepared with "modern" flair. The Maitre D' is extremely corteous and somehow always seems able to find us a table even at short notice. We dine here at least 3/4 times a month, and it is our favourite spot for lunch - with a lunch menu at about £15 for three courses, it is just what you need after a busy saturday morning shopping in High Street Ken! Highly recommended.

We ate there last Friday evening. early evening. Had an excellent meal. delicious food. sometimes Italian food is a bit samey all the way through. not here. Excellent beef, and grilled bass. service was attentive, certainly not rude, but friendly and efficient. Price wasn't cheap but i didn't expect it to be and felt it was worth what we paid.

My experience of TImo has only been good. The owner is consistently warm and hospitable, the service is always efficient and the food excellent. I eat there at least 3-4 times a month and have never been disappointed. It is clearly a favourite of many as most of the diners are local and keep coming back. I have just eaten a most delicious chestnut pasta with duck ragout - quite superb!

Went to this restaurant for lunch with one of their regular customers. We had booked but because we were early the very rude maitre d' made us sit by the door until the appointed time. Of course, he didn't have a table available at the time we had booked for - and was only concerned with a larger party who arrived while we were waiting. He even pegged the door open so that we sat in the freezing cold. In the end we just left, but even as we were going the maitre d' continued to be rude and wouldn't even say sorry. So I can't say anything about the food, but who wants to dine in such an unpleasant place?

Went to Timo yesterday after reading the reviews. We were really disappointed by the quality of the food. Food was ok but not as good as we were expecting.
Service and atmosphere were really disappointing as well.
Will not go back for sure and will not advise this place to anyone.

We had many meals at Timo, and always been excellent. We are very fussy Italians, so we do appreciate good food.
The service, food and wine are first rate!
We do recommend it to anyone, who appreciate authentic Italian food.
10 out of 10.

Hello. We have declared Timo´s as our favourite Italian restaurant.
The food is always excellent, the service superb and very friendly and the atmosphere is really nice, that you can feel relaxed. It´s always a treat to go to Timo´s and we recommended it to some of our best friends.
We come all the way from Virginia Water in Surrey to enjoy our special evenings at Timo´s!

I have been going to Timo since it's opening and have never yet had either a bad meal, nor bad service. One Sunday lunchtime the staff were happy to bring up current Grand Prix reports from the kitchen; we have been soothed by the maitre'd after after dreadful journeys; and the other Sunday, lunch was the princely sum of £15+ for two courses (wine etc., excepted) and was simply delicious. To our surprise, only three tables were filled. What is wrong with the Kensington locals? A treat on their doorstep and they are not taking advantage of it.
