Zuma Restaurant In London

Probably the restaurant will be doing well as long as there are people who never taste real Japanese.

I was so disappointed with the food. I won't come back.

I have been to Zuma on 10 may 2009. I sat on the bar area which the chef is making the sushi and sashimi.

I found the food was really nice and everything is fantastic. But the thing, food is too small per portion. Also the service not that good as the 4 stars restaurant.

But the atmosphere was really great.

I recommend this restaurant for you to go. But remember to book the table before you to cos I think the recession not effect this restaurant.

Zuma! Excellent!

In my opinion this place is one of the best places in London for an all round innovative Japanese feast!!! The thing with this place is that after several years the atmosphere still buzzes...the beautifully plated dishes of fresh top quality ingredients combine perfectly to explode greatness in the palate...

Zuma is an inventive Japanese restaurant, whose dishes may begin get old but one never tires of eating... a trendy bar at the entrance superb service. The grill offers an alternative for those of you that prefer their food cooked.

A place worth visiting if your budget allows it!

Food was exceptional, service cheerful and efficient, bling levels as amusing as ever. But there's defo something irritating about ending up back on the street £150 a head lighter after about 90 minutes - for that price you want to settle in for the evening. I guess you know all this up front though and I never felt pressured by the staff, the system is smooth enough...

Again a case of a restaurant thinking it is better than it's customer's (not the first time)- the front desk is so pompous (young girls are not necessarily efficient - in this case more air heads), there is absolutely no sense of liaison between bookings and restaurant - table was 30 minutes late and then after fifteen minutes they dained to take the order only to tell us that we were told to hurry up and order as the kitchen was closing in ten minutes. Two of the dishes never arrived, basis this sort of service it undermines the quality of food served in what otherwise has good potential.

I took my husband and my daughter to Zuma last week for a birthday celebration.

We had high expectations both in terms of food and service.

The food was delicious and a great however the evening was marred by dismal service. We arrived at 8.10 for an 8.30pm booking and the front desk was full of staff but no one doing anything except for giggling and chatting to each other, Finally they noticed us took our coat and told us they would fetch us from the bar at 8.30pm. 8.50 I had to go and remind them that we were still waiting and the girl told us that the table would be ready in 5 mins as the diners at the table were just paying their bill. Finally at 9pm we sat down and no apology and the same girl had the audacity to remind us if the 2 hour time limit on the table which clearly wasn't an issue for the previous diners.

I will not go back £340.00 to be treated as though we were being done a favour by being allowed to eat there. In this difficult economic climate Zuma would be wise to understand the importance of the customer and repeat business.

After hearing a lot of great things about Zuma, a couple of my friends and I decided to pay the place a visit. As it was my birthday and we were suffering from the celebrations of the night before, we managed to make it for lunch (1 hour late) on a lazy Sunday afternoon and believe me the food was fantastic. Although we were late - the waitress was v friendly and quickly found a table by the lounge.

We ordered a few dishes to between the four of us and everything from the spicy edamame to the salmon teriyaki was incredible. Great lunch and worth every penny! Will be going back v soon.

The food was quite exceptional. Highly recommended. The only downer was the bar clientele. An apparent mixture of faux rich guys who give the appearance that they're wealthier and more successful in bed and life than they probably are, and the fake tanned minxes that are attracted to such vapidity. That said, I did find my Zuma experience one of profound pleasure and I'll most certainly go again, but probably not on a Friday night.

What on earth is going on at Zuma? This once bright star is fading fast. Last night the service was distinctly unbright. Zuma's smug policy of serving guests as and when each individual dish is ready is becoming irritating. Who really wants to eat their main course 1/2 hour after their partner has had his simply because the kitchen can't (or won't) coordinate the food service. Try enjoying a bowl of cold rice because it arrived 15 mins before the fish. Several complaints were met with arrogant indifference and an attitude of 'if you don't like the way we do things, you know what you can do' (!!!)

Diners beware. London's once brightest star needs a good polish. Time to follow another one.

Gourmet Chick - 8/10

Monday, October 20, 2008 - Located down a small laneway in Knightsbridge, Zuma is achingly hip. The decor is a swanky combination of interlocked wooden walls and granite benchtops. There is an incredibly popular bar in the middle of the room and towards the back a huge robata grill with a team of chefs at work. The women hovering at the bar are poured into their dresses - this is one of the few places in town where it seems people still get dressed up to come here. Loud music and an amazing cocktail selection completed the party atmosphere. The food is Japanese fusion and was all delicious and brilliantly executed.
