I have passed this little place several times on a bus, and after reading these reviews decided to try it. I have now been there twice, and find it pays to book. The wine list is a bit pricey but the house wine is fine, particularly the red. We asked for tap water last time and were brought full glasses of water with ice and lemon AND a large jug of same, which impressed us. It is a small, friendly, old fashioned place with a larger, smarter room upstairs. I like it downstairs because you can watch people come and go, many of whom are obviously regulars. I had egg mayonnaise, a good old fashioned starter, with a little edging of finely sliced tomatoes and cucumber. My friends had the parma ham with melon, (plenty of ham, too), and the mixed meat antipasti with olives and pate, which turned out to be absolutely huge. Two of us had the garlic prawns with a delicious sauce and rice for mains, and my other friend had the seafood pasta with a tomato sauce which was absolutely full of large prawns, mussels etc. They brought finger bowls after this, and the helpings were so large that we could not manage any pudding, though these looked delicious. I shall be returning with more friends next week.

What a little gem. We checked this out last night on the back of the reviews here and it is a great little place. Friendly staff and great food (I was particularly impressed with the salami being hand cut to order). Well worth a visit.

Attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere and great food in this friendly and unpretentious Italian restaurant conveniently located right by Waterloo station.
As a vegetarian, I was impressed by the range and quality of non-meat dishes. The pasta was delicious (proper "de Cecco" stuff the manager assured us) and cooked perfectly al dente, whilst the tricolore salad was scrumptious (although the lettuce wasn't the tastiest I've had and the salad would have been improved by the addition of vinegar alongside the generous splash of olive oil - but these are small points).
The three people I was dining with tell me that the meat dishes they tried (fillet steak, steak " a la pepper", and liver) were also delicious.
The puddings were home-made and the perfect finish to a pleasant evening - I can personally recommend the tartufo negro.
Only thing to say is that they don't have a proper pizza oven so if it's pizza you're after then try elsewhere (Zizzi is one of our favourites). For good wholesome pasta and meat dishes at very reasonable prices, however, this place is hard to beat.

Simple, unassuming decore with good home-cooked Italian food and very reasonable prices. Family run with good service, there's something about his little place.
