My husband and I (both of us are veggie) went to this restaurant yesterday. We were both really looking forward to it after reading so many excellent reviews, however our experience was quite the opposite. On arrival we weren't acknowledged for ages, (considering how tiny it is, its unlikely no-one saw us) and when we were finally seated, we had to ask for menus, and drinks which took over 45 mins! Everytime, we tried to get the attention of someone we were outright ignored whereas guests around us were attended to. The food was ok, (when we finally got it!) each course took at least 45 mins to come out, which just left us so hungry that we couldn't really appreciate it anyway. My dessert was very burnt, totally inedible, and staff simply laughed when I told them.

I would say don't bother going to this place, the food isn't particularly great and the service is rubbish, theres so many good veggie restaurants out there, and this is not one of them!!!!

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my 30th with family who live in London (we are from the cotswolds) . Although a little outside central London it was very easy to find straight after a single tube ride. I was the only vegetarian out of the party, hence why i picked it!, but everyone had a great time, 9 of us altogether on a Friday night. The food was really well priced and delicious, i would have quite liked a mini platter of everything! A very reasonable corkage charge, loved that bit being able to take our own wine! I cant wait to visit London and go again!

We visited to this nice restaurant for the first time, yesterday and were very impressed. The dishes were nicely presented and tasted out of this world. The staffs were friendly and the service was prompt. We had a great time and we will be returning, hopefully very soon. A bigger choice of desserts will be appreciated. Highly recommended.

Food was quite tasty and original. Everything was fresh and well thought out.

Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere was cozy, it looks like an old hippy place but jazzed up a bit to be suitable for dates.

Paid £30 for a meal with starter and desert.

Portions are not gigantic but are more than adequate, I didn't leave hungry.

Over the past ten years I have regularly been to this restaurant, as it was a favourite of mine. However on a recent (Jan) visit, I was very disappointed with the quality and originality of the food. The starters were unimaginative and of poor quality. I had baked camembert, my partner had vegetable tempura. I was surprised that the camembert consisted of a lump of cheese, melted and served in a dish, with some grated red onions. The latter was not, but was supposed to be a relish. I was expecting camembert rolled in breadcrumbs, baked and set in a mould, not melted liquid. The tempura came with a dip, which was overpowered by tamarind. The batter was flavourless, greasy and seemed to have been cooked in stale oil. I am not proficient at cooking but I think I could have made a better attempt.

The main course was moussaka which was even more disappointing especially as the presentation looked nice. The three small pieces of aubergines were undercooked and poorly seasoned, the mozzarella, sliced tomatoes and béchamel was cold and the accompanying tomato sauce seemed like a tin of cold chopped tomatoes was poured over it. The dish actually tasted horrible. The other main course was linguine. This was definitely better than the moussaka but it was something that could equally be created to a slightly better standard at home. After years of attending blah, blah, blah’s, I will not be going again. The menu has become much less creative than it used to be, the cooking quality and use and variety of ingredients used has plummeted.

I dined at Blah Blah Blah 18 months ago and had been impressed, so since I was dining with a vegetarian I decided this would be an excellent choice. HOW WRONG I WAS! I don't know if the restaurant is under new management but all the things which impressed me about the place the first time where missing this time. The servings were extremely small (although priced equivalently to meals at more carnivorous restaurants - and vegetables are surely cheaper than meat). I am not a huge eater, however after a starter (more like a bite) and a main, I had to order another starter because I was still hungry! Not only that, the service was slow and the atmosphere was below par. In fact, the evening we were there a whole party was so disappointed that they left without paying for their meal after having an argument with the manager.

I will not be returning to this restaurant and would not recommend this place.

I had my Birthday celebrations at Blah Blah Blah for the second year running along with 20 of my close friends, and although the food was very good last year i have to say the food was even better this year, i believe they have changed the Chef,,,,,,,

The Staff as usual were polite and extremely efficient with out being annoying as some staff can be,,,

they had had set out the cellar dining area out just for us , with mood lighting and good background music,

we all had a wonderful night and have all said we will be going back again very shortly,,,,

I went to Blah Blah Blah a few weeks back with a friend. At first i thought the tables looked a little too close to each other but it turned out that there was a lively atmosphere so it didn't feel too claustrophobic. When we ordered we were advised our particular dishes might take a little longer than usual but as it happens they came out quite quickly, piping hot and very tasty.

They also advised us that they don't have a licence to sell alcohol but we were welcome to bring our own and they let us know there was an off license just across the road. It didn't take long for us to get some beers and have them promptly opened. No major effort and it's nice to support a place even if they don't have a full license.

When the bill came it was complete with a nice little hand drawn smiley face which was a nice touch but it was for more than we expected. Unfortunately there was just a total with no breakdown, We didn't like to quibble and we both said we wouldn't if either of us had been with a girl on a date or something but we thought we'd ask about it for the sake of clarity. It turned a service charge had been added with no details of the amount. We would have tipped well as we had been happy up to this point but we'd like to choose the amount. We might also have added a tip to the amount if we hadn't asked so would have tipped twice.

We also think there was a corkage fee for each of us for the staff to open the beers! - we were really surprised at this. Surely the restaurant saves money by not having a license / premises that can serve alcohol? and surely the customer is at a disadvantage to have to bring their own alcohol to a restaurant? Maybe this is common practise but it didn't make any sense to us. Of course there are corkage fees if the restaurant provides alcohol but the customer chooses to bring their own. We also thought an itemised bill is standard and the customer shouldn't have to ask for one. Nice place but these things put us off.

I emailed the restaurant asking for clarification a few weeks ago but they haven't replied. There are too many places in London to contemplate a return visit to somewhere that's not fully satisfactory so we won't be going back and would advise others to watch out for the extras!

Due to London shocking underground service at weekend we turned up quite late, however, the owner was very friendly and welcoming when we finaly arrived. Really nice relaxed atmosphere with excellent service. The food tasted great and although filling not overly stuffed when we left. Well worth a visit, we will definitely be going back, and im a massive meat fan as a rule.

After reading through these reviews I decided to venture there. After turning up 5-10 minutes late it had appeared that they had given away our table and we were put in the cellar, as it were. The pungent smell of cold really put me and my partner in a bad mood but as soon as we received our food we were both shell-shocked.

The food was brilliant and we were not too full and not too hungry by the end of the main course which gave us room for desert.

However even though our table was in the "cellar" we were the only ones eating there which gave the owner, i assume the owner, reason to dim down the lights and play some fancy 90's love songs. It was awfully cheesy but it put a smile on both of our faces and from there we were completely satisfied with the whole evening.

The restaurant is small but the atmosphere is so wholesome and polite that we will definitely be returning as we feel that they have more to offer.
