I have heard mixed reviews for LMNT, so on on the anniversary of our engagement my fance and I headed over to see for ourselves.

The decor is eclectic to say the least, but the odd mish mash of styles works well and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was an eye opener.

We had heard portions were small, which is true, however when you are having a three course meal it all adds up and we were left comfortably sated.

I had grilled mackerel to start which was cooked to perfection, whilst my other half had wood pigeon, he enjoyed it but was a little 'slimy' for me, but this may just be the texture of the meat as I have never had it.

Mains were lamb chops ( again, perfect) and breast of duck, he fell in love with the garlic mash!

The dark chocolate tart to finish was divine, and very rich, so the small slice was the perfect size.

Overall we had a delightful evening and the price was very reasonable, well worth a visit!

It's great, even having a few celebritys hiding in the corners when I was there.

Whatever the past people thought was wrong about the place must have been corrected. Great food, great staff, great service and great a geat place to be.

Its the hidden gem of Hackney.

I think the last review is an unfair one, this, surely must have been an off night.

I won't pretend that the food has always been spot on, but most of the time it is great. We have been going here for a few years now and have taken lots of friends along. We actually went along last Friday for a leaving do, the food was really good, it has a fab atmosphere and the staff are so friendly. The person who was leaving, had a brilliant time, he had never been before and was very impressed.

So for the money, I think we can forgive an off night. To say "never go to this restaurant" is a bit strong. It’s a real fun restaurant, with tongue in cheek décor.

I think you should let people make up their own mind!

This restaurant is rubbish. I agree with a previous reviewer - it must have a new owner. This was my second visit to LMNT and it was not a great experience at all.

We arrived to be told that the table we had specifically requested was booked by someone else despite confirming the table twice. The starters were nothing short of luke warm, the mains were cold and the staff were rude - they wouldn't know good customer service if it bit them on the bum!

A thoroughly horrid experience - don't eat at LMNT!

OH MY GOD ... Do not go to this restaurant.

The food was awful, cheap it may be but when you have to send it back there is no "value for money". On my first and only visit to this establishment the food was so bad that we ending up refusing to pay for most of it having sent back dishes from every course.

The decor is tacky, with uncomfortable seating arrangements (unless you are 4 foot tall). There is "bad" pornography on the toilet walls and I would not be comfortable taking children or parents in there. The only thing worse was the service.

As you can tell I am very disappointed with this restaurant from every aspect, and would STRONGLY recommend that you do not go there... it is AWFUL

Oh my goody goodness what a treat the lovely little LMNT restaurant is. Nestling round the back from a run down Hackney sink estate, the outside looking like some provincial municipal library, you would never guess the fantabulous culinary and sensory experiences to be found inside.

Have you ever eaten inside a giant Eygptian urn whilst listening to El Divo belting out another day in paradise? No well now you can my friends. Kitsch, fun, suprsingly cosy with erotic urinals. What more could you ask.

And I'm not sure why the food is getting such luke warm reviews. When we went on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday it was honestly some of the best I've tasted in London. Absolutely superb and at mains coming in just under 6 quid you're eating for less than a Wetherspoons soggy chicken burger.

Go Now, now, now you won't be dissapointed!!!

What they said about the decor, the exterior looks tatty in its Dalston context but once inside, isolated from the world outside it works well.

This is a great place for something different. The menu is interesting with above average items like duck confit or pheasant available, in execution the food wasn't brilliant but it was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

All in all it'd be a great place for a party outing where the company and chat is more important than a culinary odyssey.
