LMNT

LMNT is a fantastic restaurant. The food is modern European, delicious and very good value for money! We go there on a regular basis and the owner is always friendly and charming. The decor is kitch and fun, and we have never had a bad meal here!

The world's worst restaurant! Enter at your peril!

A group of 9 of us were out for a friends birthday on Friday night and were so severely treated by the OWNER of the restaurant that we left after the starters. After literally shouting at the table to keep the noise down, although we were not being excessively noisy, he took my friend, who's birthday it was, into a corner to speak: We all thought he was apologising but he was shouting AGAIN! Needless to say it spoilt our evening and my friend's birthday.

This is a litle gem hidden in Hackney and I am so glad that it's there.

The decor is unusual and I love taking friends out for dinner here.

The food is frech european and great value.

It does get a bit hot in the alcoves upstairs but it is great for novelty value and very cosy/unusual.

Ps. The food was cold when it finally arrived. Overall this place is appaling and I, for one, will never set foot in there again. They seriously need to do something about the rude waiter.

We went here last week with a group of ten. There were a number of things that were just totally unacceptable.

1. The waiter refused to take any orders (we wanted to order for the children as it was getting late) until all of us were in the restaurant and seated. So because a couple of people were running late we were seated for 40mins before we could order.

2. The waiter is rude. He shouted at us when we told him we were sharing starters (two starters for two people, for example, but we were splitting them). One of us tried ordering two starters for two people and he said no, that we had to order our own stater ourselves.

3. It took more than half an hour to get drinks after ordering them. We had to ask to order drinks after being seated there for a while without any suggestion of ordering drinks.

4. He brought the wrong starter for one of our party and when she told him it wasn't the right one he told her 'it is' and walked off to get his notepad to show her what she'd ordered. She insisted that she had not ordered it and he told her she had. She ended up eating it rather than wait half an hour for another one.

5. We waited 45mins for our main course.

6. He also brought the wrong main for another one of our party and told her that she'd ordered the pork chop (she'd ordered the pork belly special). She said she was unhappy to keep it and he said it would be 20mins to make her what she'd actually ordered. So she had to cancel her order.

7. One of the party had the lamb chop and it was disgusting. The amount of fat on the meat was excessive. It is clearly a cheap cut of meat that they're serving now.

7. The food has seriously gone down hill in this place. I've been coming here on and off since 2005, maybe earlier, and I couldn't believe what we were served last week. The mash potato that came with my main course was less than a dessert spoon full. It was disgraceful.

We will not be rushing back here. Rude waiters, poor service and not-so-great food. No thanks.

The rudest staff I've ever encountered!!!!

A polite attempt to engage the waiter in conversation by asking the ingredients of a cocktail turned into him launching an attack on us. He thought we were questioning his skills as a barman, despite our assurances that we were just interested. He had no people skills and made us feel uncomfortable for the rest of the night.

The waitress was less abusive but didn't smile or speak when she brought us our food. The food was nice, not as nice as Bistroteque.

WOW.

Just wow should suffice but I guess I ought to write some more. I managed to get a last minute table as we were going out nearby. What a surprise to find such an unbelievable restaurant and get a table 2 hours after calling. The food, ambience, service and everything that goes into making a restaurant a pleasure to eat in was wrapped up here in a perfect little bundle. Two of us ate for less than £60 including an £8 tip and a £20 bottle of wine. Admittedly we only had a starter and main course each, no desert or coffees, but the portions were more than sufficient, hence no desert. There was also the fact that we were in a bit of a rush, but next time we go it will be solely for that restaurant so we will fully enjoy all they have to offer. I guess I ought to mention the bathroom décor, not for the prudish or, and probably more so, the young, but in my eyes superb :-)

We've been here several times and have always found the food fantastic. I normally just go there with my girlfriend but we have also been there in large groups and everytime we have been pleased with the service. I'm surprised others have had such a bad experience as I have never experienced this myself. The price of the meals are fantastic too. If you can, book one of the booths on offer. It's a unique dining experience! Highly recommended!

I've been to LMNT many times, and went again recently for my husbands birthday. They weren't terribly helpful when I tried to book a table- said I couldn't reserve a table for 2, as the 2-person tables were already booked, and we couldn't reserve a 4-person table for 2 people. So, I just called 2 friends to come with us, and booked for 4. The table near us was a 2-person table, which was empty all the time we were there :-{}

Other than that, it was it's usual fantastic self- delicious food, great cocktails, reasonable prices- we've only ever had good service there. The atmosphere is just great- if you have one of the little tiny tables up the little flights of stairs, or the "cage" table over the bar, or the table inside the big bottle- you'll have a really special time.

Went to LMNT for my birthday this weekend - been a few times in the past as always found their food delicious and love the ambience. Sadly, although the food lived up to expectations again, I am amazed how some of the staff get away with being so dismissive and rude.

Our waitress was very polite and pleasant but the head waiter needs to learn a few lessons in how to treat his customers with courtesy. He appeared to behave as if everything was too much trouble - even handing me my coat at the end of the evening!! Shame as always loved this place.
