I had eaten at this restaurant before on many occassions yet my most recent visit was an utter disappointment! Having been a vegetarian for over 15 years I was thoroughly disgusted to recieve a risotto which contained chicken pieces- rather different to the vegetarian one i had ordered. To my suprise the staff did not seem to want to know and I was made to feel that is was my fault!! The menu doesnt even have a chicken risotto so I have no idea how this ended up on my plate. After much deliberation the manager agreed to knock the wine off of the bill yet I was still charged for the meal that I couldn't eat.... Not impressed.

Been going to Fantozzi for years. Big, noisy and good fun. Great for family and friends but maybe not exactly for a romantic dinner! Great pizzas, pasta and sperb Pollo Fantozzi (chicken stuffed with garlic butter - yum!)

We went to Fantozzi and one of the items ordered was a vegetarian dish. However to our shock they brought out a non-veg meal. We asked for the correct dish - which obviously took more time to come. In any case, we requested nicely at the end of the meal (given they had not already done so as a gesture of goodwill) to take off the cost of the dish off the bill. However the first waiter, called over the second, and then came over the manager Sandro Cioffi. To our shock he shouted at us and accused us of just wanting a free meal!! For the sake of £6 he upset his customers, made a scene in his restaurant and has lost the custom of people who have earnt him hundreds of pounds! He clearly does not understand the concept of being vegetarian and as the manager it was a shock to be shouted at! Beware of this restaurant!

The food is good but expect the place to be packed on the weekend and subsequently a long wait .

Atmosphere - As much as I like this restaurant it's ruined by the fact that, the staff break into their 'Happy Birthday customer' routine about every 20 minutes, with a deafening decibel level. If seated for a couple of hours it starts to drive you mad and ruins the atmosphere!

I have been a regular at Fantozzi for years - but since they extended the restaurant - the service has hit rock bottom - especially on the weekend. Waiters are rude, ignore and expect you to wait in the busy walkway for your table while they pretend that you are not there. The food is still good - though not what it used to be.

I am very surprised with the poor service quoted from others, i have been going to Fantozzi for years now, the service has always been friendly although they do have to serve alot of tables so anyone with an ounce of intelligence should allow for this, the food is fantastic, the chicken liver is amazing, the chef is from Sicily and it shows in his great food. The prices are reasonable and the kids love it there, as for the singing (see below review) this is what this restaurant is about it adds to the fun of a family night out!

I can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Go and enjoy.

Just came back from Fantozzi and disappointed with the service tonight. I am a regular there and familiar with the way they servce you... or ignore you.

The food is always good but the service is a really let down. We booked our table in advance and got our table very quickly. We've been asked 3 times if we want a drink. However, when we wanted to place our order, no body was around.. we had to really try hard to get their attention.

I appreicate that Fantozzi is a busy place but they should get more staff. Long wait for the food from starter to main course. We had to ask again 3 times for the bill and a little smile from the waitor would have won him the tips. Sorry, I don't think they deserved any.

Also, a real put off, there were 3 people's birthday tonight, they had to switch off the light and sang the birthday song 3 times during our dinner.. god.. can't they just go to TGI if they want a birthday song!!

Fantozzi's in southgate is my favourite restaurant, and until i can afford to go to the Ivy or equivelent it will probably remain so. I moved away during its recent renovations and although the enlargement may have lessened the cosiness quotient, it cant have done too much damage.

The waiting staff were innitially frosty, as i find virtually all waiting staff, but after visiting regularly and an amusing/embarrassing incident with a wasp, relations thawed and thereafter were always greeted with a smile and comedy buzzing noises. Besides, give me frosty but efficient waiters, than over-familiar and fussy ones (back off mush, i can pour my own wine)

The food rocks, simply put. To this day i cant even contemplate eating any pizza other than their spectacular Fantasia (hold the cured beef, gimme some olives). And the Saltemboca, i think its called, consisting of veal and parma ham in a sage butter constitutes sex on a plate for me.

In conclusion, Fantozzi's bee good. Go.

After going there once before and not being too impressed with the poor service i decided to give Fantozzi's another go.

I booked a tablefor 7.45pm and arrived on the dot. The first waiter completely ignored us standing at the door and walked right passed us. Another waiter looked and walked past, at which pint i had to step in front of him and tell him i had a table booked. Without even smiling he told us to wait at the bar, we waited 15 mins and i suggested to my partner that we leave. We then waited another 15 mins and still no one came to ask us if we wanted another drink or to reassure us that our table will be ready. During this half an hour wait, the waiters only seemed to be interested in the tables that consisted of young girls, other customers were getting frustrated at the lack fo service and like us, also walked out.

As we went to walk out the door the moody waiter approached us and begged us to stay insisting our table was no ready (at 8:20).

We went t Zinco's a few doors down and were greeted with smiles from the waiters/waitresses and service was first class, go there no Fantozzi!
