Yas (Kensington)

We booked a table for 10 a week before our visit. Didnt hear anything back so we called couple of days before and noone knew! so we booked again! when we arrived they said our booking was for 6 people! We entered the restaurant welcomed by smell of damp and smell of toilet! the toilet doors were wide open and funny enough the owner and his friends were sitting right by it. Every time we needed the waiter we had to wave for half an hour and when our arms were nearly falling off someone came to see to us! The food portion was small and tasted awful. We had kebabs which tasted like boiled meat. The singer SEPHORA was dreadful. She wasnt singing she was screeching. Seemed like she had a table of friends who were going around dragging people to dance floor to make her look popular which was disturbing. I won't reccomend it at all. Cheap, smelly, poor service, really nasty restaurant!

Went there on new year's day eve.

Had been before and took lots of children. We were seated on what seemed to be the VIP table and the food was really excellent with good attentive service.

Don't be put off by the negative reviews - its was splendid

I've been there a few times and although the service is not always the best I always paid the service charge and leave a tip because the employees said they did not receive the service. But the last time it was really BAD service, the staff didn't came to the table for new drinks or to check back. In the middle of the meal, I had to get up to get drinks.

As such I decided to not pay for the service charge. What was my surprise when the waiter came screaming and told me that he doesn't want to serve any more time. lol

A better choice of staff may be an option!!!!

Without doubt my favourite restaurant in London. The food is excellent. Everyone should make time for Yas in their lives...which is not hard as it is open until 4am! Only down point: the service can be slow.

I've been here between 5 and 7 times now and it hasn't failed to disappoint us. The chargrilled meat on offer is simply delicious. Staff have always been ultra friendly towards us, and we like the cosy atmosphere. I would recommend the place highly.

I took my pregnant wife to this restaurant as she was craving for this type of food, but the evening turned into a nightmare as we had to wait nearly two hours without the receiving the main course. Subsequently we walked out paying solely for the starters (awful foul taste) and the drinks. Nobody in the staff even made an attempt to satisfy us and the waitress started arguing when I refused to pay the 10% service charge!!! Do yourselves a favour and NEVER visit this place!

I've been here twice now as it's not far from my new flat and enjoyed very much the

first experience. It's the first Iranian place I've eaten at, and would recommend to anyone else in the same position! The staff are friendly and good at explaining the dishes. The food is really delicious and represents good value. I had a Sabzi with lamb & kidney beans for mains and a vegetable soup for the starter. Really nutritious food, and a ton of vegetarian dishes are on the menu. Atmosphere is good and service was quick despite the restaurant was quite busy.

We have been to Yas in the past and always enjoyed the food and service. We have even travelled there in the past as there is no Iranian restaurant near us. However, our last experience was very bad and resulted in us walking out before our mains were even ready.

Firstly, we booked a table for 10pm for 8 of us and when we arrived it wasnt ready and had to wait 20 minutes. When we got to the table the service was extremely slow! The drinks came out after the starters and we had to keep reminding them what we ordered. The food was we did receive was nice but it should have been seeing as it was bread and a variety of dips. They then didnt come back to us to take our order for mains until we asked them having fully finished our starters. We then waited another 40 minutes for the mains to come out and by this time we had decided that the level of service was so bad we left paying solely for the starters.

We saw 2 or 3 tables come in and out in the time that we were there. Which makes me think that they like serving the smaller tables of 2 or 3 people.

I'm not entirely sure how they are award winning?!
