Friendly and efficient service. Food acceptable but not top class. value for money if it hadn't been for the 12.5% servive charge and the £0.95 per head cover charge which added an extra £ 9.50 to a bill for two coarses (2 persons)and a bottle of rather nice house wine.

I went to this restaurant last night for a friend's birthday and it was superb!

The service was efficient and incredibly welcoming - we were treated like long lost friends. The attention to detail was remarkable, representing such a lovely change from the norm in most London restaurants.

Cosy and cute environment that makes you want to just sit and slosh the night away with a bucket of red wine!

Food portions are enormous and for the price, very good value.

At the end of our meal we were given some Limoncello shots on the house, so we left Da Paolo feeling happy, full and wee bit tipsy!

I went here recently for a quiet dinner with my girlfriend, and it was great! Wonderful service, great fresh food, good prices, all in all superb. Another good neighbourhood eatery! Maybe the best Italian in the area.....

Had dinner at Da Paolo last night with my girlfriend and I must say I was very impressed.

Food was excellent and the service was irreproachable. Our table was wonky but was replaced immediately and when we ordered another bottle of wine which they had run out of, they gave us a bottle of champagne for the same price.

Combined with a good atmosphere and reasonable prices, I will definitely be going back.

Recently arranged a dinner for 15 people. The manager (or owner?) was very helpful, even to the point where I booked a set menu for 15 people but in the end only 14 people turned up and I only had to pay for 14 people.

The food was ok, but what made the evening was the service was veyr good indeed and the quantity of food was a lot. Equally a few of my guests wanted to order slightly different things from off the set menu, but that was fine again.

I would go back to Da Paolo

This place is a real gem - you wouldn't stumble upon it because it is hidden away, but its location adds to its appeal.

The staff are friendly, courteous and not over-bearing. We were not rushed at all, but were attended to whenever we needed something.

The food is superb. The menu is extensive, and on the Saturday night we dined, was added to by a good selection of specials.

The portions are very good, and the food arrived piping hot, with just the right amount of time between courses.

It was a little too cold for us to dine outside, but I would suggest that, on a balmy summer's evening, a table in the street would be ideal.

It's not cheap, but it's nowhere near as expensive as you can find in London.

Overall, Da Paolo gets a hearty recommendation.

My husband and I live in the local area and Da Paolo's is our restaurant of choice. It is the perfect place to visit for both a relaxed meal or to celebrate a special occasion.

We first visited Da Paolo's for a meal with twenty members of our family the night before our wedding and the intimate atmosphere, quality of the food and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff added to a memorable evening.

Pa Paolo's is perfect for both a spot of al-fresco dining on a lazy summers evening or a cosy, intimate meal in the upstairs dining room.

I arranged a birthday dinner for fourteen and this was one of the few retaurants that didn't insist on a fixed menu on a Saturday night. They kindly arranged for a birthday cake and champagne on arrival. What a great night! The food was superb - large portions and good quality. The service was friendly and quick. We stayed late, had free liqueurs and every one of us was happy with my choice. Downside? The upstairs seating area is small and I think we probably dominated the space with our large table. Fine for us, but not great for the other diners! We will be back.

Da Paolo is a regular haunt of mine, a little gem just away from the bustle of Charlotte Street and Tottenham Court Road.

I've taken clients here, spent all afternoon here with colleagues, and have also taken family.

If you like ostentatious restaurants with flambouyant dishes witha price tag to match then this place really isn't for you.

If, however you like intimate dining in a mature atmosphere with delicious homely food, good wine and excellent service then Da Paolo has what you need.

My only concern is that now the secret is out I'll never get a table...

This restaurant may be a hidden gem, but it's local to me. I've taken relatives here several times (last in March '06) and we very much enjoyed the food, house wine, service, and cozy authentic-Italian atmosphere. Not necessarily the very cheapest but good value. In fact it's of my two favourite Italian restaurants in London.
