Considering that I am italian I had some concerns thinking to go to eat to an italian restaurant.

Now, i must say that I have never eaten so good as I did in Da Paolo in all my life.

Everything was absolutely perfect, the service, the food, the portions (huge like italian portions).

We had starter, "primo" and a grilled plait of fish for 1b person that was actually so big that maybe it could be eaten in three people.

The teste of the fish was amazing, fresh and savoury.

We also took a dessert, a tiramisu, and I must say that it was even better than my homemade tiramisu!

The best restaurant ever!

The service at this restaurant was prompt with minimal delay at any stage during the evening. Considering the fact that the restaurant appeared completely full this is worth noting. The food was very palatable and acceptably prepared. We had king prawn risotto and swordfish steak for main courses and creme brulee and homemade strudel for desserts.

I would recommend this restaurant for its service, atmosphere and food. It is a thoroughly pleasant place to stop for dinner.

Me and my partner went to this restaurant for valentines day, both having high expectations due to previous reviews. I was in particular very looking forward to the swordish. However, on our arrival we noticed that the grilled swordfish had been replaced by a grilled tuna steak (although on its website it had swordfish). We proceeded to dine at the restaurant but soon felt neglected service wise because of our age compared to the elder couples (me and my partner are 18). I felt as if we were not being taken seriously as other couples arriving after us, were being served alot quicker. It took roughly 30 minutes for us to then have to ask for a desert menu, whilst couples sitting next to us had been offered desert menus within minutes of finishing their main course. The same two waiters kept walking past us without serving us, even though we had nothing at our table.

Also, the space between tables was horrendous. It made the atmosphere very awkward when you have tables surrounding you within centremetres. Conversations may aswell have been publicised to everyone.

The food was average but all around quite bland, although i would have been happy if the bill had come distinctly cheaper... but instead i came away feeling overcharged at £65 for two courses for 2 people.

I wont let this ruin my valentines day

Recenty I have visited this restaurant and was not satisfied. The service and staff were very nice but a food was really bad. Simply, it was without any taste!!

I am coming from the Mediterranean country and know what should be good tasty food, but this one certainly wasn't. Bad value for the money as well.

I booked Da Paolo on recommendations I had read on the web. I had been asked to find private dining for 25 senior managers and guests. From my first enquiry I was impressed by the way my booking was handled. The staff could not have been more helpful and, to ensure that there was not a long delay over dinner, suggested we pre-order our meal. There are a choice of party menus and a wide choice on each and much better than most restaurant's standard 'choose one from each course' option which is so limiting.

My party were very pleased by the service food and ambiance although would have liked a little more room to mingle after dinner in the private dining area. Overall this was considered a good choice and a successful business dinner. We will be dining at Da Paulo again when next in London.

I recently held our Office Party at Da Paolo Restaurant after reading the reviews on this website. There were 17 of us in total and we had a great time. From the initial booking process throught to the event on 17/12/08 everything ran smoothly and the staff, particularly Carlos, were very helpful. The Restaurant has a lovely welcoming ambience and the food was superb - huge portions! Everyone agreed that it was the best meal we have had as a group. I would thoroughly recommend Da Paolo and will be back!

This is a Gem of a restaurant and a real find. I have been twice now both for a personal dinner, which was so impressive I organised our Chrsitmas Lunch there as well. Everyone at Da Paolo is so friendly and attentive; they really do make sure you are made to very welcome. A personal service without being at all overbearing. The food is wonderful and I can recomment the Roast Cod or home made pasta. Washed down with a great wine from the list; it is a perfect place to spoil yourself. We have all added this restaurant to our favourites !

We have been to Da Paolo's two years running for our work Christmas party and cannot fault the service, quality, food, or the staff! We always have a large number of people, which has been complicated in previous venues, however Da Paolo always manage to accommodate us and any requests. The bottom floor of the restaurant is spacious and allows for a good atmosphere even with large groups of 30+, and the food is delicious.

I would recommend the restaurant to anyone, and would like to mention special thanks to the manager Carlos for making everything run so smoothly! We look forward to next year!

We went on speck to this restaurant last friday night. The service was good, the restaurant had two couples in when we first arrived but then by the time we left it was more or less full.

I dont usually feel compelled to write reviews but I felt that the dishes were completely overpriced and what should have been a £40 meal actually came in at £75.

I had bruschetta, which was drowning in side salad, mushroom risotto, which was bland and tiramisu for dessert, which was nice. The portions were huge which might explain why some people go back but personally I prefer quality over quantity.

I just think it was dreadfully expensive for what it was and I could have had a better meal somewhere else for half the price. Very disappointing and I would not recommend to anyone.

My Managering Directors asked me to arrange an evening out for 24 of us, this included Satff, husbands and wifes, I reviewed alot of restaurants in W1 and found Da Paolo. I looked on line and also went to see the restaurant for myself, it felt like a warm andf friendly place. When we arrived on the evening we were made very welcome by all the staff, our waiter could not do enough for us all, rushing around making sure meals were out quickly, bearing in mind we only ordered on that night and not in advance, and our glasses were always filled. As for the food it was fantastic, we were offered Olives and bread before our starters, which was a very nice gesture. As for the wine, I am not a wine drinker normally but this wine was great. At the end of the evening everyone had commented to me how nice the evening had turned out and how good the food was. If I had to organise another evening meal I would book at Da Paolo's. I would recommend this to everyone. In fact I hope to be going back there myself with my Husband soon for our anniversay.
