This is how a restaurant should be.
Well cooked, tasty food, big portions, friendly staff, good atmosphere and good service.
I had the italian sausage salad to start, veal with lemon and capers for main, and tiramisu for dessert. Every dish was very tasty.
Other London restaurants could learn a few things from this place.
Looking forward to eating here again in the near future.

I stumbled across this little restaurant on a Wednesday evening whilst looking for somewhere to eat with my boyfriend. I was originally a bit sceptical as there were only 2 tables taken (although it was a Wednesday evening down a small mews so to be expected really), but the atmosphere within this little restaurant didn't feel empty at all, I felt like I was in an authentic family run restaurant in Venice rather than 5 minutes walk from Oxford Street. The attentive and very friendly staff made us feel very welcome, relaxed and not rushed in the slightest. The menu was extensive and included a variety of dishes in excess of what you usually see on a 'standard Italian restaurant menu'. All food was obviously prepared fresh and it was generous portions. Without a doubt we'll be visiting this restaurant again, a lovely evening all round.

Da Paolo is, hands down, one of our favourite restaurants in London. My husband and I discovered Da Paolo almost three years ago and it has become our go-to choice for fabulous food, excellent service, and value for money. Whether as a couple, or in a group, Da Paolo never disappoints.
Most recently, I booked a table there for my husband's birthday. Not only was the service attentive and helpful, they went out of their way to make sure our dining experience was as enjoyable as it could be. The selection of starters and mains were perfect - and the dishes absolutely delivered. They even surprised my husband with a piece of Tiramisu, on the house, in celebration of his birthday. Very thoughtful and very delicious.
You just can't beat Da Paolo for fab food, hearty portions, and cozy atmosphere!

We booked the downstairs room for a large party (28) for dinner. From the initial booking to the paying of the bill, the service, attention to detail and quality of the experience was superb. Carlos (the manager) made every effort to ensure that all of our needs were met. The service on the the night was attentive but unobtrusive, and the quality of the food, atmosphere and wine was impressive.
We would heartily recommend this restaurant to future customers!

I boooked Da Paolo as a group booking for a work meal (14ppl) and it was the best choice I could of made. We sat downstairs which was perfect and the food was just superb with very large portions.
The staff were so attentive, fast and aware of everything like filling glasses etc. I arranged for us to choose from the Main Menu and so e-mailed our choices the day b4. On the night, they asked who was having starters and from that knew exactly which person to serve their mains & desserts.
They brought each course out all together and piping hot. I will definitely be recommending Da Paolo and will surely be returning myself very soon.

Organised a surprise dinner at Da Paolo for my partner last week - we were a table of 21 people and it turned out being a great evening! I had never been there before, took a wild chance when I booked and wasn't sure what to expect. But I am very satisfied; already from the beginning Carlos responded very quickly to my requests and for the evening itself everything was perfect and I could not have wished for more! Everyone loved the food (and the plates were huge!), and the service was awesome. It was also great to see how the staff all played the game with us to surprise the birthday boy..! Will definitely be back soon!

I booked a dinner for 20 people and the restaurant could not have handled it better, food came all together on time and was superb. All my guests loved it and for me it was a huge sucess. Thanks to Carlos and all his team.

Saturday night really rather good. Restaurant was busy but we were servered efficiently and quickly. Large choice on the menu, the cooking is not ambitious but it was accurate. The starters were excellent sardines and a salad. The main course lamb was good quality and the swordfish was fresh. I would not complain about the price - I've paid more for less at many places and would regard our bill at £77 with a nice valpolicella as reasonable value for money. Seating a little cramped upstairs, more room downstairs but unadventurous decoration and lighting.

Dined with a friend for lunch recently. Nice, welcoming staff, (although the front door was propped open which left the inside a bit cold and draughty. I guess it may have been to show the world they were open for business). The menu read well as did the specials on the blackboard.
Our drinks arrived prompty, and olives, bread and oil with vinegar arrived without our asking. Our starters were also timely, and the portions on the generous side. The Sicilian sausage salad was delicious. My main course of chicken with mozarella and aubergines was also quite good and large, but I could not get used to carrots going with the fresh tomato sauce. The sauteed potatoes were also on the hard side and lacked seasoning and herbs.
My gripe, 'though, is value for money, which is a problem in quite a few central London restaurants. W1 is a geographical location, not an invitation to crank up the prices on a whim. A barely large glass of house red was just short of a fiver, and the mains - quite good, but not outstanding, were well into the mid to high teens. Cover charge was automatically added, as was the 12.5% service charge - on top of the cover charge, of course! Come on guys, don't take the Michael. Leave the tip open - it's discretionary according to the law. £60 for two glasses of wine, starters and main courses - not the best value for money.

Considering that I am italian I had some concerns thinking to go to eat to an italian restaurant.
Now, i must say that I have never eaten so good as I did in Da Paolo in all my life.
Everything was absolutely perfect, the service, the food, the portions (huge like italian portions).
We had starter, "primo" and a grilled plait of fish for 1b person that was actually so big that maybe it could be eaten in three people.
The teste of the fish was amazing, fresh and savoury.
We also took a dessert, a tiramisu, and I must say that it was even better than my homemade tiramisu!
The best restaurant ever!
