Excellent vegetarian food and a variety of seafood dishes. The board menu changes with the seasons and is full of hearty meals. There are many breakfast, brunch and lunch options, endless number of sandwich combinations and many lovely cakes. The place is warm, family and child friendly, arty and quirky. The bathrooms are also very clean which is good when potty training toddlers are taken into account. It is our weekend favourite.

I'm really surprised by some of the reviews on here - its like we are talking about a different place!

I moved to Crystal Palace a couple of years ago and soon became a regular at Domali; I'm a huge fan. Lots of nice food, and I don't get bored because of the changing menu special type stuff. Admittedly they do go a bit mad on the amount of bread in the sandwiches - I usually ask for thin cut and that sorts it out.

The portions are just as generous as the bread, and being greedy I can over eat, but that's my fault.

They've got some nice noodly type stuff on but I haven't got the will power and often end up with one of their more comfort food type stuff - recently I had the monkfish and mash, could barely move afterwards!

If I can attract visitors down south (easier with the new overground) I'll usually head out to here as I know its pretty cheap and will be good. (Numidi is my other choice for a Palace night out...)

I've always had a very friendly reception, I find the staff really happy and welcoming, and the tone is right for a little local place. Not sure what's happened with the people who had a bad experience!

so - I'm a fan, its not the Ritz sure, but I feel lucky to have a nice place like this local.

Sorry but this place may have food that tastes nice but their way about customer service stinks. I too have had a very bad customer service experience here, much like the review made on here in the first review. In actual fact I saw that review previously and thought it was a bit harsh. I've changed my mind since, having since experienced a similar experience there and now see it was perfectly justified.

I love Domali. Great place for weekend breakfasts. But all the other times as well! Huge choice for vegetarians, which I am not used to. And the best equivalents of the traditional English breakfast. But no greasy fry-ups here. Well cooked food with good ingredients. Backed up with freshly juiced fruit juices for the uber-healthy. And a lovely garden when the weather is good. And fish dishes so a great place to take non-vegetarian friends.

My only problem is noise. I often have to request that the music be turned down. And the music choice is often dubious - loud rock or house early on Sunday mornings?!? File under young staff playing what they want to hear rather than thinking about the best ambience for the clientele and the time of day. Note to the management: please please get on top of that. Instead of leaving it daily to customers and the young staff to negotiate. Take a lead!

But overall my favourite restaurant in London.

A nice little place to relax, eat and drink. It is mainly vegetarian but does serve fish. It has a lovely little court yard type garden too that is rather nice to eat in during the warmer days. This is the kind of place you can go get a nice glass of wine or a beer and a bit to eat and really just chill out. They have comfy leather sofas for those prefering just to relax with a nice piece of cake and tea or coffee, as well as more traditional table seating which is all very comfortable. The food is very nice too. They serve anything from english veggie breakfast variations right through to a number of choices on a blackboard. The menu in part feels very modern world cuisine also, including some tasty fish dishes. I am always watching my weight so I rather like a veggie BLT sandwich which they make to my exacting specifications keeping it on the light side for those of you like myself always watching their weight. Also they do a lovely range of salads too and I notice the have a very nice dry sparkling wine too that is my favorite. This place is rarely empty and even when it is buzzing with life the service is excellent. I notice many different types of people go into this place, it's chilled out atmosphere very nice. I am probably one of the more fussy eaters around and they always seem to have something I like. This is a great place to go with a mixed group of veggies and non veggies alike especially if your non veggies like fish or somthing more casual like a sandwich , salad, soup. The bottom line is you can't go wrong with this place there is something for everyone. Oh and they have some lovely fresh squeezed juices also. Sometimes I even just go in there for one of those juices and believe it or not a get a bit of a sparkle to my skin when I start drinking those frequently too. All fairly moderate in price. A lovely little neighbourhood restaurant and cafe not to mention they are very accomodating to children and famlies too.
