Boardwalk

I ate there pre-theatre and have to say the food is devine. There is a 5-star chief hiding in this joint who makes simply devine food, presently elegantly and for an amazingly reasonable price.

Drinks selection is very good, and also well priced. We had a great wine and happy hour sounded far too tempting.

Our waitress was very kind and the establishment even put a rush on our food to ensure we made our seats in time.

Top service, top atmosphere, top drinks, top food.

I visited the Boardwalk last friay for a few drinks post work drinks with firends and it turned into a great all night"er"!!

Happy Hour drinks were cheap and very nice - mojitos all the way at only £3.55!!

The food was fired but just that was what we needed to soak up all the alcohol, although a member of staff did tell me that they were about to impliment a new bar and resturant menu!!

The "club" down stairs was a bit of a sweat box but the music was good, a mixture of cheese and r n b. The Dj did also toke requests!!!

I did have a very enjoyable night, out of something that was only ment to last a couple of hours!!!

Although people seem to have put some negs vibes on this place ... I had a brilliant time here ... Had great food cheap cocktails on happy hour usual price after ... Full of fit men... Bit cheese ,house and r&b ... so everything! The manager was mell brillaint also the cool dude Zak also a manager i think .. Bar staff really good and very happy fun too ... Defferently the place to go for big party easy to get too you can eat drink and party and it closes at 3am ... Also a Taxi service 2 doors down... What more could you ask for..

I recently went to the boardwalk for a friends party, and ended up having a fantastic time. The food was really good value for money and the music keep me dancing all night, but the main factor for me was the staff, they were all so helpful but it was really nice to see them having fun themselves. If your after a fun night out with fun people then this is the place for you.

This place sucks. The only thing that was good about our meal/time there was leaving!

After booking a table for 12 for a Saturday night off the back of the a la carte menu, we were slightly surprised to find (on arrival) that we were limited to a tiny fixed price menu. £21 for 3 courses with a total of 10 options....

When we asked to be able to use the menu from the website we were told emphatically that we were in the wrong! The manageress is an absolute nightmare and told us that if we wanted to leave then we would all be charged £10 a head.

As the night progressed it went from bad to worse (hard to believe I know) as it turned out they had run out of steaks and chicken salad (menu could now be written on the back of a fag packet, 10 pack!)

This is with out doubt the worst service I have ever experienced. This ruined my friends birthday and my night.

Had our xmas party here on wednesday.

never again!

We were told that if we were any later than 7.30 we wouldnt be allowed in even though we had pre-booked our places.

So arrived at 7.15. Handed over our confirmation printout of the email to one of the bar staff. he dissapeared and never returned. so we just walked up to the table area and were told by a lady at the kiosk where to sit.

We sat down and ordered bottles of white and red wine and beer. A whole hour passed and nothing was brought to our table so one of our directors went to ask and they came back with him with some wine. Warm, cheap white wine though.

So the director went up again and came back himself with proper chilled wine in ice buckets. He was doing their job!

About 1 hour and a half past before our dinner arrived which wasn’t very good quality as was the dessert which seemed very dry.

Also at all the other places we have been to we have had Christmas crackers on the tables too, well not at the boardwalk.

I also asked one of the staff for the list of what we ordered I just got a “im too busy to help you”. What happened to customer care??

The tables were very close to each other too and left barely any room to sit comfortably, the toilets too were very messy with no hand dryers just a pile of hand tells on the side.

So, impolite staff, badly manages, poor seating arrangement, understaffed too but no excuse for the rudeness, poor food and so on.

Highly NOT recommended!

Its cheap at £10 per head for 2 courses, but the food is fair to middling. Both my courses[Spring rolls and Burger were rather cool by the time they arrived] although the taste was fine and the fat chips not bad. We had some quaffable Grenache-Merlot wine which at £12.00 is fair value. Service was a bit slow but very civil-the place was full [of totty] some enjoying a hen party- with a centre piece on their table- a turgid pink plastic 'member'.[ It was eventually, for the benefit of some photos, placed on the forehead of the 'hen' but to ones surprise it was'nt held the correct way up !!]

The worst service I have ever experienced. Girlfriends birthday, booked a table which was fine. After asking for our order 2 minutes after seating 10 we asked for more time, 10 minutes later a waitress walked over - spoke to no one huffed and walked off - 10 minutes after that we had to find a waiter to take our order. Food arrived promptly 25 minutes later, 2 starters in 25 minutes - 1 of them cold. Main course arrived 30 minutes later (they claimed 12?!) most were cold, 1 was incorrect which they refused to change. Had another venue booked for 9pm so had to leave without getting our desserts from the set menu. Paid for the bill during which the waitress had a go at me for taking so long to order. Left 2 friends to finish the meal while we all went on, when friends tried to leave they were charged again for their food which I have already paid for.

Nothing short of an absolute joke, waitress/waiters are in actual fact just bar staff with no waiting skills whatsoever. Go for the happy hour drinks but avoid food at all costs.

Just had our Xmas party there...

Positives:

- big enough to hold big parties.

- passable food.

Negatives:

- Over-full...you could not move or hear yourself yell in there.

- Rude doorstaff. We got there at 6.45 for a 7.00 meal. They proceeded to do 1 in 1 out (at a restaurant!!!!) until 7, so we waited outside in the cold for a quarter of an hour...

- Passable food.

- The serving staff made the best of a tough job!

Maybe that's just how they are at Xmas, but i definitely won't back back there. Ever.
