Light Bar

This place looks a cut above from the outside but once you’re into the bar, sat on one of the tiny school classroom chairs at a dirty plastic table it soon becomes more tacky than classy. There’s no subtle chic lighting, it’s simply dark. I would imagine that if you saw it in the harsh light of day that it would resemble nothing more than a student union bar.
If you like a bar where you need to shout at the top of your voice to speak to someone standing next to you then this is the place for you. The music was far too loud for our group of friends to enjoy each other’s company. It seems, like so many other bars, that the staff enjoy the music more whilst working rather than it being set at a level to create a good atmosphere.
You’re obviously paying over the odds for drinks because of the supposed calibre of the establishment. However you can’t fail to be disappointed. If you’re paying £15 for a cocktail you want to feel that it’s worth waiting for. It wasn’t, and yet you’re still expected to hand over a 15% tip for the privilege.
If you want good cocktails, go elsewhere. If you want good music, go elsewhere. If you want a good atmosphere, go elsewhere. Want to be disappointed? Go to the Light Bar.
