My wife and I ate there this evening, for the first time. I had grilled sardines with a rocket, tomato, and caper salad. It was in the light meal section of the menu, and cost about £4. Deliious, and great value. My wife had battered haddock and chips, with a little pot of mushy peas, and tartare sauce. I think that was about £11. She said the fish was excellent, and the chips were average.

It had a very nice atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will be going there regularly; we really liked it.

You can tell that this place falls under 'new management'. The staff that have been there longer than 5 minutes are the ones who care about the place and the guests, not the new manager(s?) who is (are) rude and grumpy!!!

Our company is based not far from the pub, we tend to go for drinks after work at least once a week, less now as the manager refused to top up our pints and was educating/patronising us the other week ...Food was amazing on a positive note and the long serving staff in there are excellent

I have been hear a few times, i don't live near by so is always at the suggestion of friends but happly go as i really like it. The food it pretty great for a pub. Some of the best pies I have had and love the roast on the weekend.

Had risotto once which was ok, but who goes to a pub for rissoto, really.

Is always a good atomoshpere of relaxed people having a good time. No loud music or dj's that have killed so many a good venue in the area.

Staff are pretty cool and kind of kooky which i like too, always up for a chat which makes if feel all the more local.

Love the retro style too. Pitty i don't live closer...
